Position: Cable Assembler

Salary: £13 - £14.57 per hour

Location: Northampton

Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cable Assembler to begin work for a leading manufacturing and production business in Northampton.

Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Cable Assembler to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the Site's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.

Duties Include:

Measuring and cutting of cablesGeneral assembly/production dutiesQuality checking and order processing of finished products

The Ideal Candidate would:

Have previous production/manufacturing exp.Have proven long-term work historyBe able to reliably commute to Brackmills NN4Have strong attention to detailBe happy working alone and supporting a team to hit KPIs

Position: Cable Assembler/Wirer

Location: Thame

Permanent

Shifts:

Early shift 6:00am to 2.30pm Monday to Thursday and 6:00am to 11:00am on Friday's. Salary £24,700

Late shift 2.30pm to 11.00pm Monday to Thursday and 11:00am to 4.00pm on Friday's. Salary £27,300

Job Spec:

Proactive are currently recruiting for a number of Assembly Operatives to work in Thame. You will be required to provide a highly flexible response to variations in demand with minimum supervision, carrying out production activities relating to the manufacture of components and assembly of product. All successful candidates will be required to use hand tools, follow written instructions, and stand at a work bench throughout the day.

Duties will include:

Working with minimum supervision, work in any area of component manufacturing, product assembly, wiring and test as required to meet delivery requirements.Carryout component manufacturing, product assembly to meet requirements documented in build instructions, drawings, BOM's or other related documents.Ensure that all components and products are stored tidily and correctly identified.Accurately maintain production records, product records and other records.Liaise with Team Leaders and ensure stock levels are kept up to date.Alert the Production Manager or other appropriate staff of any plant or equipment maintenance issues.Offer suggestions to the Team Leader/Line Manager that will improve the efficiency and safety of production areas and equipment.Raise awareness of manufacturing problems with the Production Manager and work with others to find and effectively implement solutions.

Experience / Skills Required:

Good IT skillsGood manual dexterityExcellent attention to detailPrevious experience assembling productAble to multi task successfully

Role Overview:
We are looking for skilled and detail-oriented Cable Harness Technicians who will be responsible for assembling, testing, and maintaining cable harnesses for electronic systems. This position requires precision, technical knowledge, and a strong commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawingsCut, strip, crimp, solder wires; install connectors and coveringsPerform continuity and electrical testing using test equipmentMaintain accurate records of assemblies and test resultsPerform routine maintenance on tools and machineryAdhere to all safety and compliance standards

Required Experience & Skills:

At least 2 years of experience in cable harness or electronics assemblySkilled in soldering, crimping, and using various connectorsFamiliar with multimeters and continuity testers

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of IPC620, JSTD, and COPs standardsExperience with quality inspectionStrong attention to detail and good manual dexterityBackground in automotive, aerospace, or telecom industries is a plus
