Day shift: £35,000 - £40,000 - Depending on experience.
Location: Southend-On-Sea
Hours: 39 hours per week - 08:00am - 16:30pm - Early finish on Friday
Proactive are currently recruiting for multiple skilled CNC Setter Operators in Southend-on-Sea to start work immediately.
This is an exciting opportunity working for a market leader in the design and manufacture of high performance aerospace parts. You will be working as part of a wider team delivering projects to meet production targets.
Our client requires candidates who have proven CNC Setting / Turning experience with Sliding Head Machines and working within a manufacturing/engineering environment. You will have an understanding of and adherence to Health - Safety legislation including COSHH requirements You must be also able to demonstrate a strong attention to detail with regards to high quality paint preparation and the application of approved paint products.
Responsibilities:
Setting & Operating CNC sliding head machines to produce a variety of small-batch components from engineering drawings.Manufacturing all components within the agreed production time frame.Using measuring equipment to check components after manufacture.Maintain the agreed quality rating at all times.Working within the order of the manufacturing schedule at all times.Making sure the manufacturing paperwork is filled out correctly.Maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times.Supporting team members with other tasks as and when required.To help create and maintain a safe working environment andAdhere to the published Health & Safety procedures.Experience
CNC/Turning experience.Ability to interpret engineering drawings.Ability to work to production targets.How to Apply:

Role:
Responsible for the setup and operation of CNC machines. Your expertise in machine setup, and precision machining will ensure the production of high-quality parts that meet strict industry specifications. You will work closely with engineers, and other manufacturing personnel to achieve efficient and accurate machining operations.
Responsibilities:
Setting and operating 3/4/5 axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain/Fanuc controlsProducing high complexity components from a range of materialsAdhering to quality standardsInvolvement and attendance at SQDCP meetings in assigned area/sEnsuring performance of part production to planned set and run times and Quality requirementsCommunicating Not Right first time (NRFT) within assigned areasAssisting the Manufacturing Group Leader in improving the 5S organisation of the team areaResponsible for ensuring correct materials, Route Cards, drawing are used to produce componentsSetting up tools, offsets etc ready for your own operation to commence and assist Operators where appropriateEnsuring Delivery Schedule Adherence of parts to system / route card datesFlexibility to work at our other Group site in Bristol if required
Machine Set up
Experience in setting up CNC machines, including installing workpieces, fixtures, cutting tools.Ability to set Work offsets with probes and manually by wobble bar/DTI clock.Ability to select and install appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures for the machining process.
CNC Machining Skills:
·CNC Setter/Operators must have a keen eye for detail and the ability to monitor the machining process closely, making adjustments to tooling or machine settings as necessary to maintain precision and quality.In-depth knowledge and experience in operating CNC machines, specifically Heidenhain and/or Fanuc ControlsProficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.Desirable: strong understanding of CNC programming languages.
Safety and Compliance:
Adherence to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment - Zero Tolerance to safety.Knowledge of machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements exercised in accordance with company policy and procedure (including standard operating, health and safety and HR procedures)Compliance with company policies, quality standards, and relevant industry regulations.Lead by example by living the company mission and values, demonstrating a proactive, ethical and can-do approach undertaken in an ethical manner with due consideration to the needs and concerns of others (particularly in relation to equality and diversity), effective use of company resources and sustainability.
Communication and Collaboration:
Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and engineers.Ability to document and maintain accurate production records, including setup sheets, tool lists & kitsWillingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, machining techniques, and process improvements.
Skills & Experience.
Setting and operating 3/4/5 axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controlsProducing high complexity components from a range of materialsAdhering to quality standardsGood working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and Engineering drawingsPrevious aerospace experience (Desirable)Good working knowledge of component dimensions using various inspection equipment - including but not limited to Micrometers, Verniers and Plug Gauges.Ability to produce components to drawing tolerance and specifications, efficiently and accurately as required by internal and external customer specificationBPSS security will be required
