Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Laser Programmer to join our team.

Role Overview:
As a Laser Programmer, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating laser cutting machinery to fabricate stainless steel components to the highest standards. You will utilise CAD software to generate cutting instructions from technical drawings, ensuring quality control and precision throughout the production process. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with laser programming and CAD design, particularly in a stainless steel fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme and operate laser cutting machines to exact specifications for stainless steel components.Use CAD software to interpret technical drawings and produce laser cutting instructions.Perform routine maintenance checks on the laser cutting equipment and address any operational issues.Ensure all materials and processes meet the highest quality standards.Work closely with the production team to ensure timely delivery of fabricated components.Contribute to process improvements and machine optimisation to improve efficiency.

Required Skills and Experience:

Proven experience in laser programming, preferably within a stainless steel fabrication or manufacturingProficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).Strong understanding of technical drawings and blueprints, particularly for stainless steel components.Exceptional attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a fabrication workshop environment.

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: £30,000 - £60,000

Location: Milton Keynes

Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to begin work for a leading manufacturer based in Milton Keynes.

Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Mechanical Design Engineer to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the factory's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work. The client is open to all levels of experience in design engineers, whether you're a graduate with a couple of years under your belt or a seasoned Design Engineer the client would love to talk to.

Overview:

Working as part of a team to design and develop the mechanical aspects of enclosures, cabinets and consoles with particular emphasis on ruggedisation for harsh environments through the whole lifecycle (requirements, development, drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports).Ownership of some or all of the mechanical aspects of projectsProvide technical support to project managers and customers.Develop and maintain mechanical drawings, parts lists and manufacturing data.Adhere to the design control activities within the company BMS.Assist with the production of ILS information, including manuals, maintenance procedures, spares provisioning and training materials.Review legacy equipment in respect of current standards, obsolescence, and design.Effectively manage your time, accurately logging time against tasks.

Experience:

Broadly experienced mechanical engineer with history in design and development of enclosures and cabinets an advantage.Must have an excellent understanding of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing.Ability to create solutions from customer requirements, applying appropriate standards and regulations, selection of materials, manufacturing techniques and components.Competent in the use of AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D.Experience in NASTRAN and other analysis tools, FEA, CFD etc.Competent in design to critical standardQualified by experience or to degree level or equivalent.Excellent communicator at all levels and able to produce high quality technical documents and reports sometimes for inclusion in tender responses and submissions to customers.
