CAD Designer (3D Modeling) - Large-Scale Industrial & Warehouse Projects

The company specializes in industrial engineering and warehouse automation solutions, delivering large-scale logistics and high-bay storage projects across Europe. They have an exciting opportunity for a CAD Designer to join their engineering team. This position is well-suited to a detail-oriented and technically minded professional who is looking to expand their experience in industrial structures and automation-related projects.
This position is based in the Engineering Department and reports to the Engineering Manager. You will develop detailed 3D models of steel structures and racking systems, create technical and fabrication drawings, and support projects from concept through installation.
Responsibilities:
* Develop 3D models of steel structures, racking systems, and structural components using SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or Tekla.
* Create 2D technical drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly documentation.
* Manage large assemblies with thousands of components.
* Collaborate with structural engineers and automation specialists on conveyors, cranes, and AS/RS systems.
* Identify and resolve design clashes and technical issues.
* Support design updates throughout the full project lifecycle.
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years of experience in 3D CAD design within industrial, mechanical, or structural engineering.
* Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or Tekla Structures.
* Experience working with large and complex assemblies.
* Ability to create accurate manufacturing and fabrication drawings.
* Good understanding of steel structures and structural connections.
* Professional working proficiency in English.

We are currently seeking an experienced Layout Engineer to support site-based automation and continuous improvement activities at our facility. This is a hands-on, on-site contract role, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the shop floor and proactively resolving layout and deployment challenges.
The contract rate is open, and we are evaluating candidates based on experience and rate expectations.
Contract duration: 3-6 months
Role Overview
The successful candidate will play a key role in facility layout development, with a strong focus on AGV route control and updates. This position requires someone practical and adaptable, capable of manually taking measurements on site and acting as a general all-rounder to support deployment and layout-related needs.
Key Responsibilities
Create, update, and manage 2D CAD facility layouts to support automation initiatives and continuous improvement projectsDesign, maintain, and update AGV routing layouts, ensuring safe navigation, clear pathways, and integration with existing workflowsUpdate machining and equipment layouts to reflect changes in process flow, tooling, and automation requirementsWork closely with cross-functional teams to interpret requirements and translate them into accurate CAD deliverablesSupport facility planning, including evaluation of spatial constraints, equipment placement, and infrastructure needsMaintain revision control, accuracy, and consistency across all layout documentationProvide technical support on site during installation, commissioning, and layout or automation changesSkills & Experience
Proficiency in 2D CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD)Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, automation systems, and material flowAbility to interpret engineering drawings, process flows, and facility requirementsHands-on, proactive approach with strong problem-solving skillsDetail-oriented with excellent communication and collaboration abilitiesInterested?
