Salary: £45,000 + Overtime (OTE £55,000) + Company Van
Hours: Monday-Friday, 07:00-15:30

Are you an electrically biased, multi-skilled engineer with strong mechanical skills looking for a field-based role with excellent earning potential and variety?

We are recruiting for a Field Service Technician to join a specialist engineering service team delivering world-class loading and materials handling solutions to major logistics and distribution clients across the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with high-profile customers including leading names in logistics, parcel handling and air cargo.

The Role

As part of the Engineering Service Support Team, you will:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) across customer sitesDiagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faultsSupport continuous improvement initiatives and recommend system enhancementsParticipate in a 1 in 3 on-call rota (home-based standby)Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation and site permit systemsMaintain accurate service reports and professional customer communicationTravel across Scotland and occasionally further afield as required

This role is electrically biased but requires strong mechanical capability, including fabrication and welding.

What We're Looking For

City & Guilds qualification or recognised engineering apprenticeshipElectrically biased with strong mechanical skillsExperience within parcel handling, FMCG, manufacturing or similar environmentsKnowledge of inverter drives, SCADA, Profibus, ASi, PLC/PC control systems (advantageous)Experience working to KPIs, PM schedules and permit-to-work systemsStrong fault-finding ability and problem-solving skillsComfortable working autonomously in a field-based roleWillingness to travel across the UKExcellent communication and report-writing skills

Feild Service Engineer

£35 / £40k Per anum

Are you a highly organised Engineer with experience of working in a field-based service and maintenance role? A service driven, professional and pragmatic Field Service Engineer is required to join our client, a well-established SME, based near Heathrow with a friendly team and a worldwide reputation for providing service excellence in niche markets.

An experienced Field Service Engineer is required to join the team covering the South of the UK with occasional travel to the North of England when needed, and visits to the site in Sunbury on Thames in Middlesex. Preferably with knowledge working with medical or lab-based equipment, to provide preventative maintenance, service, repairs and installation of our clients equipment and customer and distributor training on and off site.

The successful candidate must be willing to travel. The ability to organise your own diary is essential. All product training will be provided, however candidates must be able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar engineering role.

Key Responsibilities

Organising and undertaking Site Visits Fault Finding and Repair of Equipment Surveying and Installation Systems Product Training for Customers/Distributors Routine Maintenance and Calibration of customer product. Responding to Customer Calls/Emails Product Training for Customers/Distributors in house and on site. Maintain all documentation relating to the Sales and Service activities, both computerised and otherwise.

Skills and Experience

Engineering/Technical Background Experience of Fault Finding using reasoning and diagnostic skills Ideally experience of supporting Medical Devices (desirable) An understanding of IT infrastructure Strong Customer focus Excellent Spoken and Written English Full Clean UK/EU Driving Licence Based in the South-East area or willing to travel Flexible working location and hours
