Technical Operator Chippenham Wiltshire

Location: Chippenham Wiltshire
Salary: £35,000 rising to £44,000 after training
Shift: 12-hour shifts, days and nights

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Operator to join a successful manufacturing business in Chippenham.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with machinery, technology and production equipment and is looking to develop a long-term career within a technical manufacturing environment.

As a Technical Operator, you will be trained to operate industry-leading digital print technology, with the role combining technical machine operation, production, quality control and problem-solving.

You don't necessarily need previous experience as a Technical Operator, as full training will be provided. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, a practical approach and the willingness to learn.

The Technical operator Role

As a Technical Operator your responsibilities will include:

Operating advanced digital print and production machinery.Setting up and preparing equipment for production.Monitoring machinery throughout the production process.Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet the required standards.Identifying and resolving basic technical and production issues.Making adjustments to machinery and settings where required.Following production specifications and operating procedures.Working safely and maintaining a clean and organised production environment.Working closely with colleagues to ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.Learning and developing your technical knowledge of the print process and machinery.

About You

We are looking for a Technical Operator with:

Previous experience working with machinery, production equipment or technical processes.A practical and mechanically minded approach.Good attention to detail and a focus on quality.Confidence following technical instructions and procedures.The ability to identify problems and think logically when resolving issues.The ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.The ability to work as part of a team.Flexibility to work 12-hour day and night shifts.

Previous experience as a Print Operator, Machine Operator, Technical Operator or Production Operator would be advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right person.

What's on Offer

Full time: Continental Shift Pattern, 6 am to 6 pm / 6 pm to 6 am based on 24/7 hour operation, (this could be subject to change based on operational fluctuations)

RESPONSIBILITIES

The position involves:

Operate digital pressFollow the information supplied on Work Instruction tickets - either paper or digitalEnsure maximum output, to the highest quality achievableMinimise both time and waste and downtime of the press and utilising the Make Ready processAdhere to best practice operating procedures to achieve KPI targetsFollow planned maintenance programmesWork to documented ISO9001 and ISO14001 proceduresEnsure good house keeping of machine and work areaBe flexible in working on a Continental shift patternFollow all Health and Safety and Safe Systems of Work practices

KEY COMPETENCIES

Engineering experience is preferred, but not essential as full training will be givenExperienced in the use of mechanical handling of equipmentAble to work a Continental Shift pattern - this is a mustBasic IT skills with some competencyAttention to detail with accuracyPractical and logical - able to solve problems quickly.Capable to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.Adaptable to changing demands and circumstancesAbility to work under pressure to meet deadlinesExcellent communication skillsFlexible, reliable and trustworthy
