Roles: Goods In Inspectors
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Duration: Both temporary and permanent roles available
Salary: Up to £15/hour
Working Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Goods In Inspector to join our quality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting incoming materials and components to ensure they meet specified quality requirements before being released for production.
Previous Goods In Inspection experience is preferred. We welcome candidates from a variety of manufacturing or engineering backgrounds who possess strong inspection skills, attention to detail, and a quality-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspection of incoming goods, materials, and components against drawings, specifications, and quality standards.Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.Conduct dimensional inspections using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.Record inspection results accurately and maintain inspection documentation.Identify and report non-conforming materials and support containment activities when required.Work closely with Quality, Purchasing, and Production teams to resolve supplier quality issues.Ensure all inspections are completed in accordance with company procedures and quality requirements.Support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality function.Requirements
Previous Goods In Inspection or Quality Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.Experience using measuring and inspection equipment to verify dimensions and product conformity.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Good communication and record-keeping skills.Ability to work independently and make sound quality-based decisions.Desirable
Experience within manufacturing is beneficial but not required.Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection processes.Familiarity with non-conformance reporting and corrective action procedures.What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have a strong quality mindset and a practical approach to inspection. Industry background is less important than the ability to interpret drawings, take accurate measurements, identify potential quality concerns, and ensure that incoming materials meet the required standards.

The Electronics/PCB Inspector will be required to visually inspect PCB's to ensure that they meet quality standards.
Duties/tasks will include;
Inspect PCBs to IPC-A-610, class 3 to ensure quality of product using the latest magnification equipment & AOI and XRayLiaise with ProductionAssist and support Production Technicians by discussing faults and findings to include Internal Training of the TeamManage and resolve inspection queries and raising NCR's as applicableCompleting all NCR paperworkMonitor build, quality and report quality issues as necessary.Action rework as necessaryPCB Inspector - other skills/knowledge required;

Department: Production Floor
Location: Portsmouth, PO3. On Site.
Role Type: Full-time. Permanent on successful completion of 12-week temporary position.
Job Summary
The production operative will have day-to-day responsibilities for the safe and efficient
handling, processing and manufacturing of products within the production environment.
This includes safe handling and working with machinery, tools and equipment to produce
final product. Throughout the process there will be quality forms to complete and visual checks
required for defects. There may be a requirement to troubleshoot issues and carry out basic
machine maintenance once fully trained.
The role would suit a hands on individual who prefers practical work and enjoys the production
environment.
Responsibilities
Operate machinery, tools and equipment to produce orders to customer specification.
Adhere to company health & safety rules and procedures.
Comply with the requirements of our quality management system.
Visually check the product throughout the process for any defects.
Maintain housekeeping throughout.
Communicate any concerns with health and safety and product quality to your
supervisor.
Job Requirements
Previous experience in a similar environment is essential. Full training will be provided.
An understanding of the importance of health & safety rules and procedures in the
workplace, more specifically the production and manufacturing environment.
An understanding of quality compliance and attention to detail including the importance
of maintaining high standards for our customers and the impacts of poor quality.
Physically able due to standing for long periods and performing manual handling tasks.
Manual handling training is provided prior to start online and practical in-house during
employment.
Proficient in the use of operating machinery, power tools, hand tools and equipment to
complete tasks safely and efficiently whilst maintaining high quality standards. This
includes digital tools and IT equipment.
Able to read technical instructions and product specifications.
A team player with good communication skills, working in a team to produce high quality
products and reporting any concerns.
Shifts
06:00am - 14:15pm, Monday to Friday
14:15pm-22:30pm, Monday to Friday
21:45pm - 06:00am, Sunday to Thursday
All with one first 15-minute unpaid break and a second 30-minute unpaid break. Total of 37.5
paid hours a week.
