Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for an Quality Inspector to begin work for a leading manufacturing and production business in Thame.

Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Quality Inspector to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the factory's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.

Overview of the role:

Carry out dimensional and cosmetic inspection of goods manufactured in-house or by the supply chain.Maintain daily inspection figures and reports.Complete AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports for goods manufactured in-house.Inspect and verify AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports submitted by the supply chain.Support in the identification and handling of non-conforming (NC) products.Ensure assigned tasks are completed on time to support customer schedules.Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.Perform any other duties that may be required from time to time to support the business.

Basic Requirements and Qualifications:

Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings & Specifications.Experience in using handheld inspection equipment, rules, verniers etc. (Training will be provided if necessary).Keen eye for detail.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Team player, enthusiastic with a positive 'can do' attitude.Ability to work under pressure, to multi-task & manage own time to meet required deadlines.

Evaluate customer enquiry requirements for machined components and assemblies.

To estimate manufacturing costs, and produce quotes accurately within a timely manner.

Liaise with customers technically as required and take ownership of contracts and manage to completion.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Produce optimum method and estimates from drawings or digitally provided data, capture all relevant information and provide clear narratives where required, within the allocated timeframe

Create clear and concise quotes and submits quotes for review prior to submission

Complete & conduct quick load as a priority for a new orders, make sure all information including materials and specifications is captured prior to performing

Negotiate raw materials and purchase as required, liaise with suppliers and obtain new suppliers for outwork processes

Provide technical support, methods, tooling and project management

Ensure customers are kept informed as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Apprentice trained engineer or similar discipline,Strong background in mechanical engineering,Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and information.Can - do attitude with a flexible approach, strong work ethics essential,Experience in a sub-contract machining company would be advantageous,Good communicator at all levels both verbal and written.Good level of IT literacy,Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing techniques would be advantageous,Experience as an account manager in an engineering company would be advantageous,

Manufacturing liaison and reporting shortfalls to Manufacturing supervision.

Training Operators in all aspects of inspection techniques and equipment. Including the preparation of inspection equipment work instruction.

Assisting in effective management of the entire measurement and test equipment

calibration system.

Setting of adjustable M&TE for use by Manufacturing Operators.

Recommending and pursuing (when sanctioned) improvements to both Inspection and Quality techniques and equipment.

Translation of Customer quality requirements into detailed Manufacturing

Compiling routine final inspection trend analysis and reports.

Compilation of Inspection report blanks.

Managing Non-Conformances and Customer Complaints through 8Ds/5Whys

Compilation and submission of various Customer documentation packs

System and process audits up to completion as scheduled.

Supplier audits including reporting and recommendations.

Customer & Supplier liaison on specific quality issues.

Creation of Quality Control Plans/LTQRS on specific customer projects.

Other related duties as determined by Operations Director
