THE ROLE

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will help ensure the production operation continues to run safely, efficiently and reliably.

The role will involve:

Planned preventative maintenance across automated production equipmentReactive maintenance and breakdown responseElectrical and/or mechanical fault findingDiagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairsWorking to minimise production downtimeIdentifying recurring equipment issuesSupporting root cause analysis and permanent corrective actionsContributing to continuous improvement initiativesWorking closely with Production and other engineering disciplinesSupporting improvements to equipment reliability and performanceMaintaining accurate maintenance recordsWorking to high standards of health and safety

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a strong manufacturing background and a genuine interest in modern engineering and automation.

You will ideally have:

City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualificationPrevious Maintenance Engineer experience within FMCG, manufacturing, production or process environmentsStrong electrical or mechanical maintenance experienceExperience working with production machineryGood fault-finding and diagnostic skillsA proactive approach to problem solvingThe ability to work effectively within a teamA desire to learn and develop technicallyAn interest in automation and continuous improvementFull right to work in the UK

MUST HAVE FULL right to work in UK

We're working with an award winning manufacturer with their fully automated production facility and very advanced machinery.

This is a long-term contract role for an experienced Maintenance Engineer, with the opportunity to work on newly installed, cutting-edge machinery and be part of an expanding site.

Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities

Reactive and planned maintenance of production machinery

Electrical or mechanical fault finding and repair (depending on skill set)

Minimise downtime and support on breakdowns

Assist with continuous improvement projects

Requirements for the Maintenance Engineer

Engineering qualification - City & Guilds Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)

Proven experience in a manufacturing / process/ production environment

Good knowledge of maintaining production or process machinery

Strong background in either mechanical or electrical maintenance

Hands-on approach and ability to work as part of a team
