We are recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a growing engineering team providing maintenance and breakdown support across customer sites throughout the South West. This is a home-based role covering Bristol, Somerset, Devon, Dorset and surrounding areas.

The Resident?Automation Technician II supports our customer on all automation-related topics. This position requires a broad-based electrical and mechanical skillset along with a proactive approach to identifying ways to improve the sites performance through troubleshooting and hands-on repair. Based at our customer site, the Resident Automation Technician II must represent the image and ensure a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained.
Responsibilities:
Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.
Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment on-site, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory.
Collaborate with the broader Lifetime Services team to track, document, and communicate issues and lessons learned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma required. Associate degree or Technical Certificate in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related field strongly preferred.
Two (2) to three (3) years of demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, manufacturing, or related environments.
Familiarity with HMI (human machine interface) and/or SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition interface) experience.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings for use in diagnostics.
Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc).
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Previous experience in electromechanical troubleshooting and repair of material-handling conveyors, AS/RS, and shuttle systems, preferred.
Profibus and Profinet experience preferred.

Sound application knowledge of auto-mated material handling equipment such as AS/RS, pallet and case conveyors, sorters, AGV's, monorails
Strong experience in reading, under-standing and translating various schematics and blueprints
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated presentation skills
Well refined computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook
Ability to travel 75% + with ongoing flexibility outside of approved PTO requests
Adaptability to changing circumstances on sites and with evolving processes, new equipment types and standards, customer requirements
Desirable
AS in Mechanical Engineering or Construction
AutoCad experience
MS Project experience
30-Hour OSHA Course Certification
First Aid/CPR/AED certified
Powerpoint and other presentation skills and experience
Strong emphasis on process control.
Very strong emphasis on safety management and safety plan execution
