Proactive are currently recruiting for an Mechanical Assembly Technician to join a busy manufacturing and warehouse operation based in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with a practical and technical mindset who enjoys assembly, testing and quality-focused work. Full training will be provided, with opportunities to develop your technical skills and take on additional responsibilities.
The Role
As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling engineered components, carrying out testing and quality checks, and supporting the wider production and warehouse operation.
Working as part of a team, you will ensure products are assembled accurately, tested thoroughly and prepared for dispatch in line with company quality, safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble and test a range of engineered components and products.Assemble and modify components in accordance with technical instructions and procedures.Carry out testing on completed assemblies to ensure they meet the required specifications.Test and troubleshoot equipment prior to installation.Complete final quality control checks before products are dispatched.Undertake training on new products, equipment and assembly processes.Work in accordance with ISO 9001 quality standards and company procedures.Follow all company Health & Safety requirements and fire risk management procedures.Wear the required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, masks and other protective equipment where necessary.Maintain a clean, tidy and organised working environment.Carry out regular stock checks and support accurate inventory management.Receive incoming deliveries and check goods as required.Prepare orders for dispatch and ensure goods are ready for delivery.Support the booking and dispatch of goods when required.Help maintain appropriate stock levels through effective organisation and planning.Support the wider production and warehouse team with other reasonable duties as required.
Required Experience:
Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, engineering, warehouse or production environments.A practical, hands-on and mechanically minded approach.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.The ability to follow technical instructions, drawings and established procedures.A methodical approach to testing, inspection and troubleshooting.Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.A willingness to learn new products, processes and technical skills.Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.An understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards, or a willingness to learn.A strong commitment to Health & Safety.The ability to maintain a clean, safe and organised workplace.

CNC Machninists (Milling or Turning) required to work manufacturing company based in Milton Keynes.
We are currently looking for CNC Operators, Setters and Programmers for a busy client experiencing growth.
Operatives who can programme online (at the machine) using Fanuc controlled machines; they will also need to set and operate the machine. We are willing to offer training for the right candidate, but they must have worked with CNC lathes previously and be able to set and operate. We have a simple pre screening test that we would like all potential candidates to complete prior to arranging interviews. This test will consist of point-to-point positions with G-code (G1, G2 & G3).
The two lathe we have areas follows;
Doosan Puma 2600SY II CNC lathe equipped with Doosan-Fanuc 0iTF Plus CNC Control System with Manual Guide 'i' with bar feeder. Live tooling with sub spindle.
Leadwell Turning Centre LTC-25i LVM with Fanuc controls single spindle C axis live tooling.
The rate of pay will be between £13-£19 per hour depending on experience. Hours of work are 7.45m to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.45am to 3.30pm on Fridays with a 45-minute unpaid lunchbreak each day, a total of 39 hours per week. There is also potential for overtime.
Overtime payment is as follows.
The first 4 hours worked in excess of normal hours are paid 1.5 times the hourly rate, thereafter, hours worked are paid at twice the hourly rate.Working extra hours on a Saturday, first 4 hours at 1.5 times the hourly rate, thereafter twice the hourly rate.Working extra hours on a Sunday, providing the preceding Saturday has been worked, you will be paid at twice the hourly rate.Working on a Bank Holiday will be paid at twice the hourly rateUpon successful completion of probation period, we can offer the following:
