Maintenance Engineer
The Role
We are working with an award-winning manufacturer that is looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team on a shift-based pattern.
This is a hands-on, reactive maintenance role, where the main responsibility will be responding to breakdowns and getting production machinery back up and running as quickly and safely as possible.
The role would suit a Maintenance Engineer who enjoys fault finding, diagnosing problems and carrying out repairs in a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Respond quickly to mechanical and electrical breakdowns across the manufacturing site.Diagnose faults and identify the root cause of machinery failures.Carry out reactive maintenance and repairs to minimise production downtime.Repair and replace mechanical and electrical components as required.Fault find on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, sensors, pneumatics and other production equipment.Work safely and efficiently under pressure during breakdown situations.Support production teams by resolving engineering issues promptly.Carry out basic adjustments and modifications to machinery where required.Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and engineering work.Follow all site health and safety procedures and engineering standards.The Person
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a strong practical engineering background and the ability to fault find effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The successful Maintenance Engineer will be confident dealing with breakdowns and be able to diagnose faults quickly and carry out effective repairs with minimal disruption to production.
A multi-skilled background would be beneficial, with either a mechanical or electrical bias considered.
Skills & Experience
Previous Maintenance Engineer experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.Strong reactive maintenance and breakdown experience.Good mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.Experience working on production machinery.Ability to diagnose faults quickly and effectively.Experience with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, pneumatics and other industrial machinery.Multi-skilled engineering experience would be advantageous.Able to work effectively under pressure.Good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.

We are working with an award-winning manufacturer that is looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team on a Monday to Friday, days-based shift pattern.
This is a varied, hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role, offering the opportunity to work on machinery refurbishment, planned maintenance, engineering projects and the manufacture of mechanical components.
For a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer who enjoys working on machinery rather than simply carrying out reactive maintenance, this role offers a good mix of maintenance, refurbishment, fitting and project work.
Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned and preventative maintenance across a range of manufacturing machinery.
Refurbish, overhaul and rebuild machinery and mechanical components.
Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
Manufacture, modify and repair mechanical components.
Work on engineering projects, machinery improvements and modifications.
Machine and fit components to precise measurements and fine tolerances.
Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and other inspection equipment.
Strip, rebuild and align machinery and mechanical assemblies.
Identify worn or damaged components and determine the appropriate repair or replacement.
Read and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and engineering quality.
The PersonThe ideal Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will have strong practical mechanical engineering skills and experience working with industrial machinery within a manufacturing environment.
You should be comfortable with hands-on mechanical work, including dismantling, rebuilding, fitting and component manufacture, and be confident working accurately to fine tolerances.
Experience using micrometers, verniers and other precision measuring equipment is important, along with the ability to read engineering drawings and manufacture or modify components accurately.
