Proactive are currently recruiting for a Plastic Vacuum Forming Technician to join a well-established manufacturing business.

As a Plastic Vacuum Forming Technician, you will play an important role within the production team, manufacturing high-quality plastic components using vacuum forming machinery. You will be responsible for ensuring products are produced efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and set up vacuum forming machinery for daily production requirementsSelect and load the correct materials, tooling, and moulds for each production runMonitor machine performance throughout the manufacturing process, making adjustments where necessary to achieve consistent resultsComplete in-process quality checks to ensure products meet customer specificationsIdentify production issues and report or resolve minor equipment faults where appropriateCarry out routine housekeeping and basic preventative maintenance on machinery and work areasAccurately complete production documentation and quality records

Skills:

Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environmentExperience operating vacuum forming machinery or similar production equipment is advantageousGood practical skills with the ability to use hand and power tools safelyStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality productsAbility to follow work instructions, technical specifications, and production proceduresReliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a teamFlexible approach to supporting different production areas when required

The Role

As Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

Taking ownership of the overall condition, appearance, and functionality of the site facilities and grounds.

Carrying out hands-on maintenance, repairs, and improvement works across the site.

Supervising and supporting a Facilities & Maintenance Assistant.

Managing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.

Acting as the main point of contact for external contractors and service providers.

Coordinating contractor visits and ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.

Managing maintenance documentation, including purchase orders, RAMS, permits, insurance records, and service reports.

Carrying out regular site inspections, identifying issues, and ensuring corrective actions are completed.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in facilities, building maintenance, site maintenance, or a similar role.

Experience working within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or commercial environment.

Strong practical maintenance skills with a hands-on approach.

Experience supervising a team member or coordinating maintenance activities.

Experience managing contractors and external service providers.

A good understanding of health & safety requirements within a facilities environment.

The ability to prioritise workloads and manage both planned and reactive tasks.

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities:
Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.
Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment on-site, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory.
Collaborate with the broader Lifetime Services team to track, document, and communicate issues and lessons learned.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
High school diploma required. Associate degree or Technical Certificate in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related field strongly preferred.
Two (2) to three (3) years of demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, manufacturing, or related environments.
Familiarity with HMI (human machine interface) and/or SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition interface) experience.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings for use in diagnostics.
Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc).
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Previous experience in electromechanical troubleshooting and repair of material-handling conveyors, AS/RS, and shuttle systems, preferred.
Profibus and Profinet experience preferred.
