We are working with a global manufacturing business that is looking to appoint an Engineering Team Leader to lead a larger engineering team within a well-established manufacturing operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineering Team Leader who enjoys the people and management side of engineering and wants to take responsibility for a sizeable team within a structured and professional engineering function.

The Engineering Team Leader will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the engineering team, ensuring people are developed, maintenance activities are effectively delivered and engineering performance continues to improve.

THE ROLE

As Engineering Team Leader, you will take responsibility for the performance and development of the engineering team.

Key responsibilities will include:

Leading, managing and developing a team of Maintenance EngineersConducting regular 1-to-1s, performance reviews and appraisalsSetting objectives and supporting individual development plansManaging performance, attendance and employee relations issuesCoaching and developing engineers to improve capability across the teamManaging engineering resource and allocating work effectivelyWorking with the Engineering Manager to set departmental prioritiesManaging contractors and external engineering suppliersEnsuring contractors operate safely and to the required standardsMonitoring maintenance performance and key engineering KPIsSupporting the delivery of planned preventative and reactive maintenanceWorking closely with Production and other departments to maintain equipment availabilityAttending management meetings and providing updates on engineering performanceSupporting root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiativesIdentifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and maintenance standardsEnsuring engineering policies, procedures and health and safety standards are followedSupporting engineering projects and wider site initiatives

ABOUT YOU

We are open to candidates who are already an experienced Engineering Team Leader, as well as experienced Maintenance Engineers who are ready to take the next step into leadership.

You will need:

Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environmentStrong multi-skilled engineering knowledgeGood understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenancePrevious experience leading, supervising or developing engineering teams is desirableStrong people management and communication skillsConfidence managing performance and having difficult conversationsThe ability to motivate, coach and develop engineersA structured and organised approach to managing a busy engineering functionExperience working with contractors and external suppliersThe ability to communicate effectively with Production, Engineering and senior managementA proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvementStrong understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environmentFull right to work in the UK

CNC Machninists (Milling or Turning) required to work manufacturing company based in Milton Keynes.

We are currently looking for CNC Operators, Setters and Programmers for a busy client experiencing growth.

Operatives who can programme online (at the machine) using Fanuc controlled machines; they will also need to set and operate the machine. We are willing to offer training for the right candidate, but they must have worked with CNC lathes previously and be able to set and operate. We have a simple pre screening test that we would like all potential candidates to complete prior to arranging interviews. This test will consist of point-to-point positions with G-code (G1, G2 & G3).

The two lathe we have areas follows;

Doosan Puma 2600SY II CNC lathe equipped with Doosan-Fanuc 0iTF Plus CNC Control System with Manual Guide 'i' with bar feeder. Live tooling with sub spindle.

Leadwell Turning Centre LTC-25i LVM with Fanuc controls single spindle C axis live tooling.

The rate of pay will be between £13-£19 per hour depending on experience. Hours of work are 7.45m to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.45am to 3.30pm on Fridays with a 45-minute unpaid lunchbreak each day, a total of 39 hours per week. There is also potential for overtime.

Overtime payment is as follows.

The first 4 hours worked in excess of normal hours are paid 1.5 times the hourly rate, thereafter, hours worked are paid at twice the hourly rate.Working extra hours on a Saturday, first 4 hours at 1.5 times the hourly rate, thereafter twice the hourly rate.Working extra hours on a Sunday, providing the preceding Saturday has been worked, you will be paid at twice the hourly rate.Working on a Bank Holiday will be paid at twice the hourly rate

Senior Controls Engineer

About the Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to lead the design, development, programming, and commissioning of complex material handling automation systems. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through customer handoff while helping shape engineering standards, mentoring teammates, and driving innovation across the controls organization.

What You'll DoLead controls engineering efforts across multiple material handling and industrial automation projects.Design complete electrical systems, including field device layouts, control panels, and electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.Select electrical components, develop bills of materials (BOMs), design control networks, and validate equipment selections.Develop and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications.Commission, test, troubleshoot, and optimize systems during installation and startup.Provide technical support during installation and resolve field issues as needed.Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and meet customer expectations.Develop and maintain engineering standards, reusable code libraries, and design templates.Support research and development initiatives to expand automation capabilities.Evaluate and implement new technologies alongside equipment and software vendors.Identify value engineering opportunities while maintaining system performance and reliability.Collaborate closely with project managers, mechanical engineers, field teams, and customers throughout project execution.Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the controls team.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, internal training, and engineering process development.Support recruiting efforts and provide technical input on engineering tools and technologies.Represent the engineering team professionally during customer meetings, site visits, and supplier interactions.Qualifications10+ years of controls engineering experience (or 14+ years of relevant experience without a degree), preferably in material handling, warehouse automation, or industrial automation.Advanced experience programming PLCs and developing HMI/SCADA systems.Strong understanding of industrial networking architectures and communication protocols.Experience designing electrical control panels and selecting automation components.Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software.Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to transition between engineering design and field commissioning.Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.Willingness to travel up to 50% based on project requirements.Why Join Us?Work on challenging, large-scale industrial automation and material handling projects.Enjoy a collaborative, team-oriented culture that values innovation and continuous improvement.Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.401(k) with generous employer matching.Profit-sharing opportunities.Flexible work environment with autonomy and ownership.Opportunities for professional development, mentorship, and career growth.Team events, community involvement, and a culture that values both hard work and having fun.

Confer with sales engineers, project managers, project team, customers, and others to discuss and understand project specifications, scope and design requirements.
* Check and approve detailed drawing sets consisting of conveyor controls layouts, power feed calculations, 480 volt power schematics, 120 volt control schematics, I/O drawings, field device layouts, PLC layout/design, panel layout/design, and other drawings required to implement the project scope as per and ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
* Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
* Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
* Inspect, audit and test completed motor control panels for overall sound construction and compliance with all design standards and specifications.
* Create, Develop, and lead the development of PLC programming code and software for the control of assigned projects. The AEGIS CPE will be the technical controls lead for a given project throughout its life cycle for our customer.
