Are you an experienced Quality Engineer with a background in electronics manufacturing? Do you enjoy driving continuous improvement, maintaining robust quality systems and ensuring compliance with industry standards?
We are currently recruiting on behalf of an electronics manufacture and due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Quality Engineer to support and continually improve their Integrated Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
The Role
As a Quality Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and developing the company's Quality and Environmental Management Systems while supporting manufacturing, engineering and customer quality activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining and continually improving the Integrated Quality & Environmental Management System in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and IATF 16949.Planning, conducting and supporting internal audits, while acting as a key point of contact during external certification and customer audits.Investigating non-conformities, customer complaints and internal quality issues using structured root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.Monitoring quality KPIs, analysing trends and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business.Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), verification and validation activities, engineering changes and customer-specific quality requirements.Working closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve processes, reduce defects and enhance product quality.Ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory and industry quality requirements.About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Assurance Engineer within a manufacturing environment, ideally electronics or electrical manufacturing.A good understanding of ISO 9001, with experience of ISO 14001 and/or IATF 16949 being highly desirable.Experience planning, leading or supporting internal and external audits.Strong problem-solving skills using recognised quality methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone (Ishikawa), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and CAPA.Experience using quality tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, 5S and Kaizen.Knowledge of ESD control standards and electronics workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 would be advantageous.A Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or a related discipline.Lead Auditor qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation where you'll have the opportunity to influence quality standards, drive continuous improvement and play an important role in supporting the development of innovative electronic products.

Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Training.
Essential:
A minimum of FIVE years recent experience as a Quality Engineer or equivalent related function.
PC literate with competence in Microsoft Office.
Ability to train employees in quality related subjects.
Sound knowledge of inspection techniques, including:
the ability to interpret complex mechanical engineering drawings and determine appropriate measuring techniques.the ability to produce credible inspection and associated reports.
Good Project Management and liaising regularly with both customers and suppliers.
Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.
Preferred:
Good knowledge of programming CMMs, supported by a certificate of competence in CMM programming issued by the CMM manufacturer or agent. PC-DMIS programming ability.
PC-DMIS Level 2.

ISO 9000 Auditor qualification
Principal Responsibilities:
Liaising with Customers and Suppliers on quality related issues
Manufacturing liaison and reporting shortfalls to Manufacturing supervision.
Training Operators in all aspects of inspection techniques and equipment. Including the preparation of inspection equipment work instruction.
Assisting in effective management of the entire measurement and test equipment
calibration system.
Setting of adjustable M&TE for use by Manufacturing Operators.
Recommending and pursuing (when sanctioned) improvements to both Inspection and Quality techniques and equipment.
Translation of Customer quality requirements into detailed Manufacturing
Compiling routine final inspection trend analysis and reports.
Compilation of Inspection report blanks.
Managing Non-Conformances and Customer Complaints through 8Ds/5Whys
Compilation and submission of various Customer documentation packs
System and process audits up to completion as scheduled.
Supplier audits including reporting and recommendations.
Customer & Supplier liaison on specific quality issues.
Creation of Quality Control Plans/LTQRS on specific customer projects.
Other related duties as determined by Operations Director
