Position: Quality Inspector
Location: Luton
Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Inspector to begin work for a leading manufacturing and production business based in Luton.
Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Quality Inspector to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the site's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.
For this role you would need security clearance, meaning you'd need to be a UK Citizen or have an EU passport and have worked in the UK for the past 5 years.
The role of the Stores Operative will consist of:
Audit product in accordance with defined build instructions and IPC-A-610 standardsEnsure all deviations from either defined build instruction or IPC-A-610 standards are clearly identified and logged in line with defined procedures
Ensure defined processes are robust, clear & concise and can consistently achieve the required standards
Ensure all processes are stringently adhered to, any gaps or process improvements should be highlighted to your immediate supervision. They will ensure that effective remedial actions are taken in a timely manner including updating supporting documentation in QMS
Compliance with the company Quality Standard and procedures
The Stores Operative should have the following experience:
Understanding Factory Logix (Aegis)Current Certification to IPC-A-610 (desirable)Component Knowledge & IdentificationAble to follow Customer DrawingsESD AwarenessUnderstanding & use of QMS systemAttention to detailCustomer focussedAbility to creatively challenge issuesExcellent communication skills

What We're Looking For:
Experience: 5+ years of experience in a quality inspection or similar role within manufacturing, ideally in electronics.
Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings for product inspection.
Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and maintaining high standards of product quality.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers and the team.
Qualifications: IPC-620 certification is desirable but not essential.
Computer Literate: Basic proficiency in using computers for documentation and reporting.

Quality Inspection Technician

Key Functional Relationships:
Close cooperation is required with the production team, especially team leaders, to ensure they receive feedback about quality concerns, with the other members of the quality team for advice, support and guidance and with the Engineering Team to raise documentation issues. The production, warehouse and planning teams will provide information to allow the prioritisation of inspection tasks.
Role Overview:
The Quality Inspection Technician will be based in our London headquarters and report to the Quality Team Manager. They will inspect goods released from production before they reach packing to ensure they meet the quality requirements of the business.
Job Objective:
Ensure the quality of product leaving the production line.
Principal Responsibilities:
Sample inspect product leaving the production line and ensure it conforms to drawing.Raise quality issues found during inspection with the Quality Team, Drawing Office and Planning Team.Record quality issues found in Jira Service desk.Feedback any issues found with the clarity or usability of production drawings to the Drawing OfficeManage workload with feedback from warehouse and planning to meet shipping targets.Assist with inbound inspection when requiredSetting up and conducting additional electrical testing of productWrite up reports of quality problems discovered and resolutions.
