Experienced Quality Inspector required to work for a world leading manufacturing business based in Aldershot. We are looking for experienced Inspectors who are used to working with precision engineering and machined parts.
You will be working within a busy inspection team inspecting safety critical components and working to a compliance standards.
We are looking for experienced inspectors who has the ability and background of conducting inspections, reporting results and uploading into the QMS, to be reviewed by senior management and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and approve all materials/products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and reporting any non conforming materials/products.Perform first off, in-process and final inspection by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement testsRead technical drawings, control plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarise re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.Communicating with the Quality/Engineering department about how to prevent similar defects in the future.
Skills and Qualifications/experience:
Strong understanding of quality control/inspection standards and testing techniques/methods.use of micrometers, verniers, DTis, height gauges, shadowgraphs, CMM, etc.Strong understanding technical drawings and GD&TRCCA knowledge (including 8D methodology)Good math and technical skills (required).Good knowledge of MS OfficeGeneral knowledge of metrologyFAIR/PPAP knowledge (preferred).Ability to work in fast paced environment/under pressure

Quality Inspector Urgently required to work for a world leading Engineering organisation based in Aldershot, We are looking for an experienced Inspector who ideally has experience of inspection of aerospace and aviation compliant equipment.
This is a critical role to the business and you will be required to conduct a range of mechanical inspection, document inspection results, input data into quality database, raising and signing release documents in line with QMS directives and customer requirements.
This is an out and out quality inspection role that will require the use of micrometers, verniers, DTis, height gauges, shadowgraphs, CMM, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection and approval of incoming/outgoing materials and products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement testsReporting to Head of Inspection/QA any non conforming materials/products.Perform first off, in-process and final inspection by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments.Read technical drawings, control plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.Raising and signing release documents (CofC, Advice Notes, etc.)Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and reporting to QA any faulty or out of calibration equipment.Communicating with the Quality/Engineering department about how to prevent similar defects in the future.
Skills and Qualifications/experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar role (preferred).Strong understanding of quality control/inspection standards and testing techniques/methods (use of micrometers, verniers, DTis, height gauges, shadowgraphs, CMM, etc.) (required).Strong understanding technical drawings and GD&T (required).RCCA knowledge (including 8D methodology)Good math and technical skills (required).Good knowledge of MS Office (preferred).General knowledge of gear metrology (preferred).FAIR/PPAP knowledge (preferred).

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced manufacturing Inspector to join our team. This role is responsible for verifying material certification documents, conducting dimensional inspections, and ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and industry standards, including AS9100 and ISO 9001. The ideal candidate will be proficient in CMM programming and operation, with a strong understanding of FAIR and ISIR documentation requirements. This is a hands-on position that plays a key role in maintaining our commitment to quality and continuous improvement across all stages of production.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and verify material certification documents to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable standards (including AS9100 and ISO 9001).Prepare and review ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Reports) and FAIR (First Article Inspection Reports) in accordance with customer and industry requirements.Accurately document inspection findings, including certificate conformity, observations, and any discrepancies.Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and material standards to validate documentation.Offline program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to carry out dimensional inspections of components.Use a range of additional inspection tools and equipment, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Report non-conformances promptly and collaborate with relevant departments to address quality issues.Maintain accurate and traceable inspection records in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management system requirements.Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends and areas for enhancement in documentation control.Participate in audits, internal reviews, and relevant training to uphold and improve inspection standards.
Day-to-day of the role:
Begin each day by reviewing upcoming jobs and prioritising inspections based on production schedules and customer deadlines.Cross-check material certification documents against engineering drawings and specification requirements.Offline program and run CMM inspections, ensuring accurate measurement of critical dimensions.Carry out manual inspections using handheld tools where applicable, verifying tolerances and surface finishes.Prepare and update FAIRs and ISIRs for new product introductions or customer submissions.Record all inspection findings in the quality management system and flag any deviations or non-conformances.Communicate with all departments and quality teams to resolve issues and support root cause investigations.
Participate in daily quality stand-up meetings and contribute to continuous improvement discussions.Maintain calibration status of inspection equipment and ensure the inspection area remains clean and organised.Support audit preparation activities and respond to auditor queries with supporting documentation as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Essential:
Proven experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and material specifications.
Proficient in programming and operating CMM equipment.
Experience with FAIR and ISIR preparation.
Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and surface testers.
Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and documentation skills.
Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively across departments.
Desirable:
Formal qualifications in mechanical or manufacturing engineering (e.g., HNC/HND, NVQ, or equivalent).Experience supporting internal and external audits.Familiarity with customer-specific standards (e.g., Rolls-Royce SABRe).Lean or Six Sigma awareness and involvement in continuous improvement activities.
