Resident Site Engineer

Up to £55,000 per annum | Permanent | Double Days | Automated Warehouse

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Resident Site Engineer to join a fully automated warehouse operation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with a strong electrical or mechanical background to work within a highly automated environment, maintaining and fault-finding on equipment including conveyors, cranes, lifters, monorails and automatic wrapping systems.

The Role

You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and ongoing support of automated material handling equipment, helping to keep the site running efficiently and minimise downtime.

Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)Diagnosing and prioritising system faultsCarrying out scheduled repairs and reactive maintenanceFault-finding on automated equipmentWorking with PLC systems and fault-finding to I/O levelReading and working from mechanical, electrical and electronic drawingsRecording maintenance and repair activity accuratelySupporting continuous improvement initiativesManaging and maintaining appropriate levels of on-site sparesEnsuring all work is carried out safely and to a high standardWorking closely with customers, colleagues and other stakeholdersWorking Hours

Monday-Friday, rotating double days:

06:00-14:0014:00-22:00

You will also work one Saturday every four weeks, 06:00-14:00, with the preceding Monday off.

Important: You must be comfortable working at heights of up to 32 metres.

What We're Looking ForMulti-skilled maintenance experience, ideally with an electrical or mechanical biasMinimum NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalentTime-served engineering apprenticeshipExperience working with automated systemsExperience with equipment such as pallet conveyors, cranes and automatic stretch wrappersGood understanding of PLC systems and I/O-level fault findingExperience with PPMExperience using CMMS for maintenance management and fault reportingAbility to read technical drawings and manualsGood IT skills, including Word, Excel and TeamsStrong Health & Safety awarenessComfortable working at heightPackage25 days annual leavePrivate healthcareCompany pension schemeCycle to Work scheme
