Senior Operations Maintenance Technician

Location: base station in Amsterdam, the Netherlands + mobile support across multiple stations
Type of employment: Full-time
Working pattern: On-site, mobile role with on-call responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior Operations Maintenance Technician to join a growing mobile maintenance team supporting automated sorting and material handling systems across multiple logistics stations throughout the Netherlands.

The role will focus on preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance, ensuring the reliability, availability, and safe operation of automated sorting systems. You will provide hands-on technical support across multiple sites while also coordinating with maintenance specialists, vendors, and service providers.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on automated sorting and material handling systemsTravel between multiple logistics stations across the Netherlands to provide on-site maintenance supportTroubleshoot electrical, electronic, electromechanical, automation, and mechanical systemsMaintain and troubleshoot conveyor systems and components, including bearings, shafts, rollers, and related equipmentExecute planned maintenance activities according to schedules issued through IBM MaximoIdentify equipment anomalies and resolve issues using established procedures and technical expertiseWork closely with Maintenance Specialists, Senior Technicians, and Maintenance Coordinators to diagnose and resolve technical issuesCoordinate external service providers and vendors attending site for maintenance and repair activitiesEnsure third-party maintenance activities are completed safely, correctly, and in accordance with site requirementsSupport spare parts and inventory management, including re-ordering and delivery trackingRecord maintenance activities, breakdowns, parts usage, and technical interventions within Maximo CMMSFollow and document LOTO procedures, toolbox meetings, and relevant safety processesProvide technical advice and support to colleagues when requiredContribute to improving maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and operational performanceParticipate in an on-call rotation to provide out-of-hours support when required

Qualifications

3-5 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, automation, material handling, or a similar technical environmentStrong technical background in electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical systemsHands-on experience with conveyor systems, automated sorting equipment, or other material handling systemsStrong troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities across electrical and mechanical equipmentExperience with preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenanceExperience using CMMS systems, preferably IBM MaximoExperience coordinating external technicians, service providers, or vendors is an advantageTechnical qualification (MBO or equivalent) in electrical, electronic, electromechanical, automation, or a related disciplineStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsGood planning and organizational skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailFlexible, hands-on, and service-oriented approachComfortable working across multiple sitesStrong communication and teamwork skillsWillingness to participate in an on-call rotationFluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken
