Resident Site Engineer

Up to £55,000 per annum | Permanent | Automated Warehouse | Lutterworth

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Resident Site Engineer to join a fully automated warehouse operation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with a strong electrical or mechanical background to work within a highly automated environment, maintaining and fault-finding on equipment including conveyors, cranes, lifters, monorails and automatic wrapping systems.

The Role

You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and ongoing support of automated material handling equipment, helping to keep the site running efficiently and minimise downtime.

Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)Diagnosing and prioritising system faultsCarrying out scheduled repairs and reactive maintenanceFault-finding on automated equipmentWorking with PLC systems and fault-finding to I/O levelReading and working from mechanical, electrical and electronic drawingsRecording maintenance and repair activity accuratelySupporting continuous improvement initiativesManaging and maintaining appropriate levels of on-site sparesEnsuring all work is carried out safely and to a high standardWorking closely with customers, colleagues and other stakeholdersWorking Hours

Rotating 12-hour day & night shift:

3 days -> 3 off -> 2 nights -> 2 off -> 2 days -> 3 off -> 3 nights -> 1 off -> 2 days -> 4 off -> 2 nights -> 1 off

Important: You must be comfortable working at heights of up to 32 metres.

We'recurrently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading global organisation within the automation and intralogistics industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineer to work on a highly automated site, supporting the maintenance and performance of advanced warehouse automation systems.

The Role

As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting a range of automated equipment and ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently and with minimal downtime.

Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on automated equipmentResponding to breakdowns and carrying out electrical and mechanical fault findingTroubleshooting faults on conveyors, automated cranes, lifts, robotics and control systemsTesting, repairing and maintaining electrical, mechanical and automation equipmentSupporting the installation and commissioning of machinery and equipmentPrioritising and responding to reactive maintenance issuesWorking with subcontractors, customers and project teams when requiredCompleting maintenance records and ensuring accurate documentationSupporting continuous improvement activities to improve equipment reliability and performanceEnsuring all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures

You will be working with advanced automated warehouse and intralogistics equipment, which may include automated storage and retrieval systems, conveyors, robotics, cranes and associated control systems.

Working Hours

This role operates on a three-week rotating shift pattern with no night shifts:

Week 1: 6:00am - 2:00pmWeek 2: 7:00am - 3:00pmWeek 3: 2:00pm - 10:00pm

You will have two weekends off. When weekend work is required, overtime will be paid. Alternatively, you may choose to take time off in lieu during the week.

We are looking for an experienced Engineer with a strong background in electrical maintenance with previous similar experience, with Electrical qualification certificate (Level 3 ideally).
