Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for a Test Engineer to begin work for a leading manufacturing and production business in Milton Keynes.
Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Test Engineer to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the factory's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.
Responsibilities:
Test from schematic drawings and run-out sheets, also including mechanical build tests and point to point wiring checksExperience of working in a ISO9001 compliant quality system and ensuring that all assemblies are fully inspected to standard proceduresPrepare test certificates and associated internal documentationProduce reports of failures for feedback to managementWhen required, assemble and wire various electrical assemblies to detailed electrical drawingsMaintain customer job packs and other associated paperwork with Job PacksWork within the times set for tests/builds but maintain a high quality standardAssist with the development of apprenticesCompliance with H&S policy and procedures
Previous Experience:
The job holder should be able to demonstrate extensive and diverse experience of testing, wiring, fitting and sub-assembly best practiseDisplay high and consistent levels of competence in relation to QA and mechanical/ schematic build complianceIdeally qualified to HNC or C&G level in a relevant electrical disciplineIdeally a minimum of 2 years' experience in a relevant environmentPersistence to see a job through to conclusion and the ability to work within a structured environmentMethodical and precise approachGood working knowledge of Microsoft office systemsA good level of education, with at least GSCE's in Maths and English (or equivalent)

Proactive Global is hiring for experienced Test Engineers to join a leading electronics manufacturing company based in Windsor, SL4. This is a permanent position.
Working Hours : 37 hours per week
Mon to Thurs 08:00 to 16:30 and Fri 08:00 to 13:00
Salary : £37,000 per annum
About the position:
As a Test Engineer, you play a key part in quality control for production and as a part of the test team responsible for testing, diagnosing and supporting production of PCBAs and finished electronic assemblies. You will be performing test procedures, compiling data and helping to ensure that all products we manufacture for our wide-ranging customer portfolio meet the required levels of quality before reaching each customer.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret technical documentation including schematics, drawings and bills of materialsSet up, operate and maintain test equipment and functional test systemsTest PCBAs, part assemblies and finished products in line with defined specifications and proceduresDiagnose faults to component level and implement appropriate corrective actionsProvide and record accurate test result sheets, using Excel or customer-specific systemsInterpret test data and make informed decisions to support production qualityMonitor processes to ensure consistent product quality and identify improvement opportunitiesMaintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation within the test areaCollaborate with engineering and production teams to support troubleshooting and continuous improvement to the product or processMaintain equipment used for testing, including regular cleaning, calibration and repair of tools or machines, ensuring they remain in optimal condition for accurate testsImplement changes in testing protocols as required and making any technical and procedural recommendations for improvement.Skills Required
Relevant qualification in electronics (e.g. HNC/HND) or equivalent experienceExperience within an EMS or manufacturing environmentProven experience in electronic testing and fault finding to component levelExperience working with test equipment such as ICT, JTAG or functional test systemsAbility to interpret circuit diagrams, schematics and technical documentationStrong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skillsExperience recording and analysing test resultsDemonstrates a good eye for detail and works accurately and efficiently with a quality focus
