Day Shift: £30,000 - £32,000 (Depending upon experience)

Location: Mildenhall

Hours: Flexible hours as long as you complete 40 hours per week - Plenty of Overtime Available (x1.5)

Proactive are currently recruiting for skilled Welders in Mildenhall to start work immediately.

You will be working as part of a wider team delivering projects to meet production targets.

Our client requires candidates who have MIG Welding experience skills and previous experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Flexible working hours. Anything over 40 hours is paid at X1.5 with plenty of overtime available.

Position: Welder

Salary: £46,000 per annum

Location: Luton

Hours: Monday - Friday

Week 1- 6am - 2:30pm

Week 2 2:30pm - 10pm

Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for a Welder to begin work for a leading manufacturer in Luton. Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Welder to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the factory's function is well maintained.

Job Responsibilities:

Obtain authorisation from the Welding Engineer or Welding Specialist before undertaking coded weldingSet up and prepare weld surfaces and equipmentEnsure all welding equipment is inspected and calibrated prior to useMonitor consumables and support stock control activitiesMaintain rod stores and record temperature/humidity levels in line with proceduresLog work using ERP systems (e.g. Epicor) to maintain booking complianceMeet production routing times and customer requirementsMaintain high standards of quality, health & safety and housekeeping (5S)Adhere to all Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental proceduresSupport continuous improvement and Lean initiatives

What you will need:

Time served welding apprenticeshipMinimum 5 years' experience as a coded welder in an engineering environmentAbility to weld to coded standards and maintain coded welder certificationAbility to weld open-root pipe or plate using TIG (GTAW), MMA/SMAW and MAG (GMAW) processesAbility to work with carbon and stainless steels across a range of thicknessesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding proceduresCoded welding qualifications against approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) and applicable stalknks, such as ISO, ASME or AWSExperience of welding work subject to inspection using UT, RT or other non-destructive testing (NDT) methodsExperience in a manufacturing environment involving pressure vessels or piping systems, including critical components welded to recognised standardsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityExperience in brazing is essential; hands-on experience in torch or induction brazing would be desirable

Welder Required Luton - Rotating Shifts (6.00am-2.30pm / 2.30pm-11.00pm Monday to Friday)

About the Role

As a Welder, you will play a key role in supporting production by welding piece parts and sub-assemblies using a range of welding processes. Working in accordance with engineering drawings, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs), work instructions and quality standards, you will help ensure components are manufactured safely, accurately and to the required specification.

You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of workmanship, ensuring compliance with coded welding requirements and contributing to the efficient delivery of production targets and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Welding Operations: Carry out welding of components, piece parts and sub-assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, approved procedures and work instructions.Coded Welding Compliance: Obtain authorisation from the Welding Engineer or Welding Specialist before undertaking coded welding activities.Equipment Preparation: Set up welding equipment and prepare weld surfaces to ensure work can be completed safely and effectively.Equipment Inspection: Ensure all welding equipment is inspected, maintained and calibrated as required before use.Consumables Management: Monitor welding consumables, support stock control activities and ensure materials are available when required.Rod Store Management: Maintain rod stores and accurately record temperature and humidity levels in accordance with established procedures.Production Recording: Record completed work accurately using ERP systems, such as Epicor, to ensure compliance with production booking requirements.Production Performance: Meet production routing times, delivery schedules and customer quality requirements.Quality and Safety: Maintain high standards of workmanship, health and safety, environmental compliance and workplace housekeeping, including 5S principles.Procedural Compliance: Follow all applicable Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures.Continuous Improvement: Contribute to Lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities to enhance quality, efficiency and productivity.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential Requirements

Time-served welding apprenticeship.Minimum of 5 years' experience as a skilled welder within an engineering or manufacturing environment.Proven ability to weld to coded standards and maintain valid coded welder qualifications and certifications.Practical experience in open-root pipe or plate welding using the following processes:TIG (GTAW)MMA (SMAW)MAG (GMAW)Experience working with carbon steel and stainless steel across a range of material thicknesses.Ability to read, interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings and welding procedures.Experience producing welds subject to inspection using ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT) or other non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.Experience in a manufacturing environment involving pressure vessels or piping systems, including the welding of critical components to recognised industry standards.Essential hands-on experience in brazing.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Desirable Experience

Practical experience in torch brazing or induction brazing.
