Overview
Proactive Global is a trusted partner to Daifuku, providing top-tier talent to meet their growing project backlog in the Airport Automation industry. With a strong commitment to quality of service and an unparalleled bias for action, Harry Earney of Proactive Global has been instrumental in helping the North America division of Daifuku quickly provide collaborative teams to key Airport Projects. Navigating an urgent and complex request, Harry and the US Airport Automation team have built a reputation for delivering results swiftly and effectively.
The Challenge
In the lead-up to an essential TSA audit at their major Pittsburgh New Terminal project, Daifuku faced an unexpected challenge: they needed to find 5 temporary commissioning engineers with a specific skill set and experience in Tracked Conveyor commissioning, to fill critical roles for a 12-week assignment. The positions needed to be filled immediately.
Beyond just filling the roles, there was the added complexity of ensuring that all candidates were capable of full compliance with the TSA's rigorous security standards.
Within 48 hours of the request, Harry secured five qualified candidates for the role, meeting Daifuku and Pittsburgh Airport's urgent timeline. Not only did he fill the positions at the last minute, but he also worked closely with Daifuku's team to enable the five engineers to travel from across the USA to the project rapidly and cost-effectively.
This level of service speaks to Harry's customer obsession and his commitment to ensuring that Proactive Global’s candidates meet and exceed the high standards expected by Daifuku and TSA regulations. As a result, the five candidates were able to begin their assignments in Pittsburgh without delay, and Daifuku was able to seamlessly meet the tight TSA deadline.
To meet Daifuku's pressing need, Harry implemented a targeted strategy to quickly identify suitable candidates. Key factors considered included:
• Prior Tracked Conveyor Commissioning Experience: Harry prioritized workers with previous Tracked Conveyor experience to ensure they could hit the ground running.
• Rockwell PLC Programming experience: Harry specifically searched for commissioning engineers capable of programming Rockwell PLCs, performing SATs and fully compliant electro-mechanical commissioning.
• Availability and Willingness for Short-Term Work: The search focused on candidates available for short-term roles in the Pittsburgh, PA area who were open to temporary assignments.
Drawing on Proactive Global's candidate pool, Harry proactively reached out to pre-qualified individuals, going beyond the standard approach to ensure success. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Harry made himself available outside of regular office hours to speak with candidates, showing appreciation for their time and reinforcing the high stakes of this placement.
The Results
• Fully Compliant Workers: Both candidates met all Airport and Daifuku compliance standards, ensuring a seamless onboarding process.
• On-Time Project Delivery: The additional 5 contractors set the project up for success, preventing any delays to the TSA's difficult-to-meet appointments.
“I met Harry, with Proactive Global at the IABSC Annual Summit. Through general conversation, I realized that he may be able to help with a need for my project. Harry immediately got to work and delivered very qualified controls engineers. These engineers have hit the ground running and have significantly helped accelerate our testing and commissioning schedule. We really appreciate Harry, Proactive and the contracted engineering resources.” - Phillip Wellington, Senior Project Manager at Daifuku Airport North America.
