An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician to join a growing engineering business in Woking. This is a hands-on role working with complex, precision electro-mechanical products. You'll be involved throughout the build process from mechanical assembly and wiring through to testing, fault-finding and rework.
The business is growing, with multiple permanent positions available and immediate starts available for the right candidates.
What you'll be doing
Assemble and integrate complex electro-mechanical products and sub-assemblies.Fit motors, servomechanisms, PCBs, cabling and other precision components.Carry out soldering, wiring and cable harnessing to a high standard.Read and work from engineering drawings, BOMs and wiring schematics.Perform electrical and mechanical testing, calibration and diagnostics.Use multimeters, callipers, micrometres and hand/power tools.Run installed test programmes and scripts as required.Investigate faults, carry out rework and support RMA/customer-return activities.Maintain accurate build, test, inspection and repair records.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with proven experience in complex electro-mechanical assembly who takes pride in producing high-quality work.
You'll ideally have:
Strong electro-mechanical assembly experience.Good soldering, PCB, wiring and cable-harnessing skills.Experience interpreting technical drawings, BOMs and schematics.Electrical/mechanical testing and fault-finding experience.Confidence using precision measurement equipment such as callipers and micrometres.Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel for production records and reporting.Experience running test programmes or scripts.Excellent attention to detail and a practical, problem-solving approach.The ability to work independently and as part of a team.Previous experience leading, mentoring or training colleagues.
What's on offer

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for a range of electronic assembly and production activities, including:

Key Responsibilities.
Assemble and integrate electro-mechanical products either independently or as part of an assembly team, ensuring builds are completed within agreed time targets while maintaining the required quality standards.Accurately use office software Word and Excel for data recording and reporting.Run installed test programs and scripts when required.Assemble, fit and install components including motors, servomechanisms, cabling and PCBs using appropriate hand and power tools.Accurately interpret engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and wiring schematics.Support the Production Supervisor with the progression of work orders, receipt of kits and maintenance of accurate production data using internal systems.Carry out electrical and mechanical testing, calibration, diagnostics, fault-finding and rework on assemblies and sub-assemblies using tools like multimeters, callipers, and micrometres.Liaise with Quality Assurance to support fault identification and rework activities on both internal production and non- conformances and customer returned products (RMA), completing associated documentation including FMEA where required.Maintain clear, accurate and traceable build, test and repair records in line with company and customer requirements.Review and update work instructions as required, working with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure they reflect the most efficient and effective build methods.Ensure all work is completed in compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH & ESD standards and conforms to implemented ISO 9001 & 14001 management systems.Maintain consistently high standards of workmanship to ensure products meet customer and company quality expectations.Proactively identify problems, suggest improvements and contribute to continuous improvement activities including Lean and 5S initiatives.Lead cells or lines of products and support the training, mentoring and development of colleagues when required.Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to support the needs of the business.Skills & Qualifications.
