Position: CNC Machinist (Turning)
Salary: £18.00 - £20.00 per hour (Permanent Contract)
Location: Milton Keynes
Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machinist to begin work for a leading manufacturing and production business based in Milton Keynes.
Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional CNC Machinist to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the site's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to perform various machining operationsRead and interpret engineering drawings to determine machining requirementsMonitor machine operations to ensure proper functioningInspect finished components for accuracy and qualityMake adjustments to machine settings as neededMaintain a clean and organised work areaRequirements
Proficiency in operating CNC lathe machinesSetting and Operating CNC MachinesAbility to use hand tools effectivelyMechanical knowledge for troubleshooting machine issuesExperience with materials handling and toolingExperience in programming Doosan 220LSY, 220, 2100L with bar feeders or other similar multi axes machines advantageous.
Skills
Collaborate with team members to achieve production targetsAbility to assemble and handle materials effectivelyProficiency in basic maths for measurements and calculationsKnowledge of Fanuc softwareProgramming experience advantageousCompetence in using hand tools for adjustments and maintenanceExperience with milling processes is advantageousWorking Hours

CNC Machninists (Milling or Turning) required to work manufacturing company based in Milton Keynes.
We are currently looking for CNC Operators, Setters and Programmers for a busy client experiencing growth.
Operatives who can programme online (at the machine) using Fanuc controlled machines; they will also need to set and operate the machine. We are willing to offer training for the right candidate, but they must have worked with CNC lathes previously and be able to set and operate. We have a simple pre screening test that we would like all potential candidates to complete prior to arranging interviews. This test will consist of point-to-point positions with G-code (G1, G2 & G3).
The two lathe we have areas follows;
Doosan Puma 2600SY II CNC lathe equipped with Doosan-Fanuc 0iTF Plus CNC Control System with Manual Guide 'i' with bar feeder. Live tooling with sub spindle.
Leadwell Turning Centre LTC-25i LVM with Fanuc controls single spindle C axis live tooling.
The rate of pay will be between £13-£19 per hour depending on experience. Hours of work are 7.45m to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.45am to 3.30pm on Fridays with a 45-minute unpaid lunchbreak each day, a total of 39 hours per week. There is also potential for overtime.
Overtime payment is as follows.
The first 4 hours worked in excess of normal hours are paid 1.5 times the hourly rate, thereafter, hours worked are paid at twice the hourly rate.Working extra hours on a Saturday, first 4 hours at 1.5 times the hourly rate, thereafter twice the hourly rate.Working extra hours on a Sunday, providing the preceding Saturday has been worked, you will be paid at twice the hourly rate.Working on a Bank Holiday will be paid at twice the hourly rateUpon successful completion of probation period, we can offer the following:
