We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Miller/ CNC Turner to join our precision engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce complex components to tight tolerances using Heidenhain and Siemens control systems. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail and experience working in a high-spec environment with demanding quality standards.

This role reports to the Machine Shop Manager / Supervisor.

Location:

Workshop-based precision machining environment. PPE required at all times. Overtime and shift work may be required depending on workload.

What you will be doing:

Program, set and operate CNC milling machines using Heidenhain and Siemens controlsManufacture precision components to tight tolerances (micron-level where required)Work from detailed engineering drawings including GD&T specificationsSelect appropriate tooling, cutting parameters and machining strategiesMachine a range of materials including steels, stainless steels and exotic alloysConduct first-off inspection and in-process checks using precision measuring equipmentEnsure all parts meet strict quality and customer specificationsOptimise programs and processes to improve cycle times while maintaining qualityTroubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs or setups accordinglyMaintain machines and ensure safe operationCollaborate with quality and engineering teams for continuous improvement

What we are looking for:

Proven experience as a CNC Miller/ Turner in a precision engineering environmentStrong experience using Heidenhain and/or Siemens controlsAbility to machine complex components to tight tolerancesExperience with 3-axis and/or 5-axis machiningAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&TStrong understanding of cutting tools and machining strategiesExperience with inspection equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges)High attention to detail and quality standardsAbility to work independently and manage workload

CNC Turner / Miller

CNC Turner / Miller Urgently required to work an early shift for a world leading manufacturing organisation based near Farnborough. Working as part of an experienced team of Machinists you will perform a wide variety of machine shop operations including re-work, miscellaneous precision machining tasks, and maintenance of shop equipment.

We are looking for a skilled Setter & Operator of various machinery (including CNC, Mazak, etc.), to set up
and prepare materials and tooling for upcoming jobs, working from engineering drawings to produce
precision spec components for customers from the aerospace and automotive industry.

Hours : Monday - Thursday 06:30 - 15:3:30, Friday 06:00 - 13:00

Requirements:

Experience with Milling & Turning (Turning bias highly desirable)Must be self-sufficient & able to Set and Operate multiple machine tools (bias towards Mazatrol controls preferred)Demonstrable experience in a precision engineering, Automotive, aerospace or other highly regulated production environment preferredGood communication skills and able to work as part of a team

CNC Machinist Responsibilities:

Programming, setting and operating using Mazak machine tools & controls working with a variety of aerospace super alloysResponsible for maintaining production output, cycle times & all associated production documentationPerform TPM & 5S duties within the departmentSupport quick turnaround innovation tasksBecome an active team member contributing to driving waste elimination and cross- training within departmentFurther opportunities exist to expand skills in CNC Turning and Milling
