Position: Dispatch Operative

Salary: £13.20 - £14.88 per hour

Location: Kempston

Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for a Dispatch Operative to begin work for a leading manufacturing and production business in Kempston.

Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Dispatch Operative to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the Site's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.

You will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

Booking in and out of goods/materialsDispatch and logistics administrationAccurately packing and shipping of ordersIdentify stock that is in the wrong location and escalate as required ensure stock levels are controlled throughout the operationPicking items for productionLoading and unloading manually

Key Skills/Experience:

Previous dispatch/logistics experience preferably within manufacturingHappy with physical/manual based workAttention to detailExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalPositive attitudeAble to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work as a member of a small teamAble to start work ASAP

Additional Info:

Hours: 8.00am-4.30pm Monday to FridayStart Date: ASAP following interview process

The Role

Packing manufactured products safely and securely for dispatch

Processing orders and updating records using computer systems

Supporting daily dispatch targets and warehouse operations

Working closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure smooth operations

About You

We are looking for candidates who have:

Previous experience within warehouse, dispatch, packing or manufacturing environments

Experience handling technical, precision or high-quality products (advantageous)

The ability to understand technical drawings, diagrams or product specifications

Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy

Confidence using computers and warehouse management systems

Good organisational and time-management skills

A positive, dependable and proactive approach to work

The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team

Dispatch Operative Required ASAP Reading. Early Shift 6am - 2.30pm £13 - £14.50/hour

Role: Dispatch operative is responsible for correctly pulling and packaging finished orders in preparation for international and domestic transit. This position requires high attention to detail with the ability to reconcile orders. Basic computer skills are essential.

Working Hours: 6am - 2.30pm Monday to Friday (Early Shift)

Education:

GSCE/NVQ or equivalent

Experience:

Packaging & shipping of industrial components preferredProcessing of goods through company or third-party systems

Main Job Duties:

Understand and follow all aspects of health, safety and risk management as set out by the companyCompares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against orders and records.Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons identifying shipping information on cartons.Packages select preassembled containers, inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.Use of computer programs such as ERP, Internet, regularly throughout the shift.Loading/Unloading of company or third-party vehicles.Operate company forklift trucks & manual handling equipment for department and in support of other departments in the plant.Undertake and complete all company mandated training.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.Ability to operate cordless hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools.Ability to work in a cohesive team environment.Capacity to demonstrate retention of knowledge and products.Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy.Ability to demonstrate consistent high quantity completion while maintaining high quality packing standards.Basic computer skills (email, word)
