We are supporting a growing industrial automation organization that is hiring multiple Traveling Electrical Installers to work on large-scale installation projects throughout the United States.
This is a hands-on, entry-to-intermediate-level electrical installation role. It is not a PLC programming position and it is not a maintenance role. The successful candidate will support the physical installation and connection of industrial automation and controls equipment.
The role would suit someone with approximately two or more years of experience completing electrical, low-voltage, cabling, automotive electrical, battery system or industrial equipment installations.
Warehouse automation experience, particularly on Amazon or parcel automation projects, would be highly desirable but is not essential.
Responsibilities
- Complete point-to-point wiring and cable installation.
- Pull, route, label and terminate electrical and controls cabling.
- Connect field devices, sensors, motors and control equipment.
- Read and follow electrical prints, schematics and installation drawings.
- Use a multimeter to complete basic electrical checks.
- Support basic industrial networking and Ethernet connections.
- Identify and report wiring or installation issues.
- Work alongside controls, commissioning and site installation teams.
- Follow all site safety procedures and electrical installation standards.
- Travel between project locations throughout the United States.
- Work approximately 60 hours per week across varying day and night shifts.
Requirements
- At least two years of relevant electrical, cabling, low-voltage, automotive electrical, battery technician or industrial installation experience.
- Previous hands-on installation experience is essential.
- Ability to complete point-to-point wiring.
- Ability to read electrical prints, schematics and drawings.
- Ability to safely use a multimeter.
- Basic understanding of networking, Ethernet or communications cabling.
- Comfortable working with hand tools and electrical installation equipment.
- Willingness and ability to travel 100% of the time.
- Comfortable working days, nights and extended weekly hours.
- Valid driver's license.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Experience
- Warehouse automation or material handling installation.
- Amazon, UPS, FedEx, USPS or parcel automation projects.
- Conveyor, sortation or distribution center projects.
- Industrial controls or field device installation.
- Automotive electrical systems or industrial battery systems.
- Structured cabling or low-voltage systems.
Contract Details
- Initial six-month contract.
- Opportunity to convert into a permanent position.
- Approximately 60 hours per week.
- Combination of day and night shifts.
- 100% travel.
- $60 per day in per diem.
