We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a well-established manufacturing site in Kettering.

This is a Monday to Friday, days-based position offering £60,000 - £63,000, plus bonus and a good pension.

One of the biggest attractions of this Electrical Maintenance Technician role is the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge significantly further, particularly around PLC, controls and automation.

The company offers excellent learning and training opportunities, making this a particularly good opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Technician who already has a solid electrical maintenance background but wants to build on their existing PLC and controls experience and become more technically skilled.

The Role

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.Electrical fault finding across a range of manufacturing and production machinery.Diagnosing and rectifying electrical and control system faults.Working with PLC and controls systems to identify and resolve faults.Developing your knowledge of PLC, controls and automation through hands-on experience and further training.Supporting improvements to machinery, equipment and production processes.Working with sensors, inverters, motors, drives and control systems.Responding quickly to breakdowns and minimising production downtime.Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects.Working closely with the engineering and production teams.Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Training and Development

This is a role where you can genuinely continue to develop as a technician.

If you have a strong electrical maintenance background and some existing PLC and controls experience, the company will provide the opportunity to learn considerably more in these areas through training and practical experience.

You will be exposed to more advanced controls and automation systems, allowing you to expand your existing skill set and become a more technically capable Electrical Maintenance Technician.

For someone who enjoys understanding how machinery works, fault finding and developing their technical knowledge, this is a particularly good opportunity to take their electrical and controls experience to the next level.

The Person

The ideal Electrical Maintenance Technician will have:

Strong electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.Good electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.Some experience with PLC and controls.A genuine interest in developing further knowledge around PLC, controls and automation.A good understanding of industrial electrical systems.Experience with motors, drives, sensors, inverters and control panels.A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.Relevant electrical engineering qualifications or equivalent experience.
