Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer ready to take the next step in your career, or an established Engineering Team Leader looking for your next challenge?
We are recruiting for an Engineering Team Leader to join an award-winning manufacturer based in Wembley, North West London.
The business is open to both experienced Team Leaders and strong Maintenance Engineers who are ready to step into their first leadership position. The key is having the technical understanding, communication skills and maturity to lead a team effectively.
This is a leadership focused role, with responsibility for the day-to-day management and development of the engineering team.
THE ROLE
You will be responsible for:
Leading and supporting a small team of Maintenance EngineersConducting regular 1-to-1s and annual appraisalsManaging individual performance, development and trainingSetting objectives and supporting engineers with their career developmentManaging attendance and addressing performance issues where requiredCoordinating and managing contractors working on siteWorking with the Engineering Manager to plan engineering resource and prioritiesAttending management meetings and representing the engineering teamWorking closely with Production and other departments across the siteMonitoring engineering performance, maintenance activity and key KPIsSupporting the delivery of PPM and reactive maintenance programmesIdentifying areas for improvement and driving engineering standardsSupporting continuous improvement and site engineering projectsEnsuring health, safety and engineering procedures are followedABOUT YOU
You may already be an Engineering Team Leader, or you could be an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking to make the move into leadership.
You will ideally have:
Previous Maintenance Engineering experience within a manufacturing or production environmentStrong understanding of multi-skilled engineering and maintenanceGood electrical and/or mechanical engineering knowledgeExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsThe ability to lead, motivate and develop a teamConfidence managing people and handling challenging conversationsA professional and organised approachExperience working with contractors or external suppliersThe ability to work effectively with Production and senior managementA proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvementA strong understanding of health and safetyFull right to work in the UKWHY JOIN?
