Our client is an established and growing specialist business operating within a technical, commercially focused industry, supplying products and services to customers across the UK and internationally.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to support the day to day operation of the finance function.
This is a broad and hands on role, offering the opportunity to gain valuable experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, reconciliations and general finance administration.
The position would suit someone with around 1 to 2 years' experience in an accounts or finance environment, or an individual with a relevant finance qualification or educational background looking to develop their career within a commercial business.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the day to day operation of the finance functionProcess purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficientlyMaintain accurate and up to date financial recordsAssist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activitiesSupport credit control activities, including following up outstanding paymentsProcess and reconcile supplier statementsAssist with bank and balance sheet reconciliationsMaintain financial information and transactions within QuickBooksSupport payment runs and general transaction processingProcess employee expenses and related finance administrationAssist with the preparation of financial information and management reportsRespond to finance related queries from customers, suppliers and internal colleaguesProvide general administrative support to the wider finance team as requiredAbout YouThe successful candidate will ideally have:
1 to 2 years' experience within an accounts, finance or similar commercial environment, although relevant graduates or candidates with suitable qualifications will also be consideredA good understanding of basic accounting principlesStrong numerical and analytical skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyGood working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and standard Microsoft Office applicationsStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesA proactive approach with a willingness to learn and developGood communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with customers and suppliersPrevious experience using QuickBooks would be advantageous, but is not essentialWhat's On Offer£26,000 to £30,000 per annum, with flexibility for the right candidatePermanent, full time positionFully onsite working environmentBroad exposure across a commercial finance functionOpportunity to develop your accounting and finance experienceScope to take on additional responsibility as your experience developsPotential future support towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA studies for the right candidate
