ABB Robotics Integration Engineer
We are seeking an experienced ABB Robotics Integration Engineer to support the implementation and commissioning of automated robotic systems within a large-scale logistics and warehouse automation project. The role focuses on integrating ABB robotic cells with PLC-controlled conveyor and material handling systems, ensuring seamless communication between robotics, automation controls, and warehouse software platforms. The successful candidate will work onsite during installation, commissioning, testing, and go-live phases of the project.
Responsibility for full lifecycle commissioning of ABB robotic systems

They are seeking an ABB Robotics Integration Engineer to join their onsite project team.
This position is well-suited to a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys problem-solving in live automation environments and is looking to contribute to complex, high-speed logistics automation systems. This position is based in the Controls / Robotics Integration team and reports to the Commissioning Manager / Lead Controls Engineer. You will be responsible for integrating ABB robotic systems into live warehouse automation environments and ensuring full system functionality during commissioning and go-live phases.
Responsibilities:
● Integrate ABB robotic systems into automated warehouse and material handling environments
● Configure and troubleshoot communication between ABB robots, PLCs, conveyors,
scanners, and control systems
● Support commissioning, installation, testing, and startup activities for robotic cells
● Program and troubleshoot ABB robot controllers (IRC5 / OmniCore)
● Work with controls and software teams to validate end-to-end system performance
● Support PLC-to-robot communication and industrial network integration
● Perform onsite debugging and issue resolution during commissioning and go-live
● Participate in FAT and SAT testing activities
● Ensure sufficient operation of robotic systems in production environments
● Provide technical documentation and support operational handover
Requirements:
● Strong experience with ABB robotics integration and commissioning
● Hands-on experience with ABB RobotStudio, IRC5 and/or OmniCore controllers
● Strong RAPID programming skills
● Experience with Siemens PLCs (TIA Portal)
● Knowledge of industrial communication protocols: Profi net, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP
● Experience integrating robots with conveyors, sensors, scanners, palletizing, and material handling systems
● Ability to troubleshoot live automation systems onsite
● Experience in warehouse automation, intralogistics, or industrial automation projects
● Automated warehouse or distribution center projects
● Robotic palletizing/depalletizing systems ● Greenfield automation projects
● High-speed logistics automation environments
