Proactive are currently recruiting for a Production Operative to join an established and growing manufacturing business.

As a Production Operative, you'll be supporting a variety of manufacturing and workshop activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Supporting day-to-day manufacturing and workshop activities across multiple areas of the businessCarrying out basic mechanical assembly work using technical drawings and work instructionsOperating workshop machinery and hand tools to complete manufacturing tasksCarrying out basic metalworking operations, including drilling and tappingCutting materials to specification using appropriate workshop equipmentPreparing components for further manufacturing processesSupporting surface preparation activities where requiredSelecting and preparing components and materials for productionPacking completed work ready for dispatchMaintaining a clean, organised and safe working environmentMoving materials and finished products safely around the workplace

Skills:

Previous experience in a production, manufacturing or workshop environment is essentialPractical experience with hand tools and workshop equipmentExperience of basic metalworking Ability to read and interpret technical or assembly drawingsExcellent attention to detail and commitment to qualityGood communication and organisational skillsAbility to follow instructions from management and other members of the teamSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and use your own initiativeGood time management and ability to prioritise workloadAbility to work effectively with colleagues across different areas of the businessComfortable working on your feet for extended periodsPhysically capable of lifting and moving products weighing up to 15kgComfortable with bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching and stretching as part of the role

About the Role

Proactive are currently in search of an experienced Production Team leader for a market leading electronics manufacturing company based in Dartford.

As a Production Team Leader you will be required to lead and manage the team within the business to ensure that products are produced in the most efficient manner, at the right quality levels to ensure a high level of performance is maintained in the business.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

About you:

At least 3 years' experience in leading a production team. (desirable)Experience of assisting and developing (multi-skilled) people.Knowledge of Health & Safety legislationKnowledge of environmental ISO14001Knowledge of Quality standard ISO9001Understanding of production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap, and re-work
