Glass Assembly Technician

Proactive are looking for a practical and detail-focused Glass Gluing & Finishing Assistant to join a busy manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will support the final stages of production, preparing glass and metal components for assembly and ensuring finished products meet the required standards of quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare glass and associated components for use during final assembly.
  • Carry out visual inspections to identify scratches, defects, damage or other imperfections.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces to ensure they are suitable for bonding and finishing.
  • Apply adhesives, sealants and bonding materials accurately and consistently.
  • Secure glass components into metal frames, bezels and other manufactured parts.
  • Carry out trimming and finishing work to achieve a clean and professional appearance.
  • Remove protective coverings and excess material from completed components.
  • Follow established production methods, safety procedures and quality requirements.
  • Check completed work before it moves to the next stage of production.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.
  • Work closely with colleagues within the production team to achieve daily manufacturing targets.
  • Report defects, material issues or production concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Handle components carefully to prevent damage during assembly and finishing.

Requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
  • Good hand skills and manual dexterity.
  • Experience using hand tools or carrying out practical finishing work.
  • The ability to perform tasks such as trimming, cutting, bonding and gluing.
  • Good visual awareness when checking components and finished products.
  • The ability to work efficiently in a production environment.
