Are you an experienced engineering leader ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for a highly motivated Maintenance Team Leader to manage a skilled team of engineers and technicians at a fully automated distribution facility in Didcot.

About the Role

You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of a state-of-the-art automated system. You will lead daily maintenance operations, coordinate repair activities, and be the main on-site contact for the client. Your role will also include driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting site performance through effective maintenance strategy implementation.

Shift Pattern

Early: 06:00 - 14:00 (Mon - Fri)

Late: 14:00 - 22:00 (Mon - Fri)

Night: 22:00 - 06:00 (Mon - Fri)

One Saturday day shift every 4 weeks (09:00 - 17:00), combined with early/late shifts Tues-Fri that week

Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers, technicians, and apprentices

Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities across all site equipment

Act as the key liaison with the client for daily operational updates

Complete technical reporting using CMMS, DART, SAV Assure, and Teams

Support or cover the Site Engineering Manager when needed

Manage support escalations and remote ticketing

Promote health and safety compliance and continuous improvement on site

About You

Essential:

NVQ Level 3 or BTEC HNC/HND in Engineering

Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience

Proven leadership experience

Working knowledge of Siemens S7, Profibus, Canbus, Profinet, and ASI Bus

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Desirable:

Experience in materials handling or logistics environments

Familiarity with automated warehousing systems

You will be working as part of a wider team delivering projects to meet production targets.

Our client specialise in vessel manufacturing, precision fabrication and welding for highly regulated UK industries such as Healthcare, Renewable Energy and Nuclear Fusion. They cater to both medium and high-volume manufacturing of pressure vessels using robotics and semi-automation processes, specialising in the production of cryogenic pressure vessels.

Relevant Skills & Experience:

TIG Welding experience - Mainly stainless steel and AluminiumFabrication experience Fitting of fabricated parts Attention to detail. Previous experience working within a manufacturing/engineering environment.Ability to read engineering diagrams.
