Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Engineering & Automation
About the role
Our client is seeking qualified Electrical Engineers to work on a variety of electrical and mechanical engineering and automated equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the productivity and output of cargo and loading equipment by performing maintenance duties in compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and team working practices.
This is a 4 on 4 off shift pattern across days and nights

What You'll Do
The day to day
Carry out planned preventative maintenance on all equipmentRespond quickly to electrical breakdown situations and carry out effective corrective maintenance regimes.Troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults in a range of field devices, including motor controllers, sensors, and electrical machinery.Log all work carried outDemonstrate problem-solving skills and carry out effective root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues.Maintain a professional manner at all timesEnsure that contract service level agreements (SLAs) are achievedProvide cover for other service technicians and shifts when necessary.Adhere to company legislative Health & Safety regulations and policies at all times, ensuring a safe and tidy working environment.Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate precisely both in writing and verbally at all levels.Computer literate and able to use CMMS systems.Ability to read and interpret drawings.Ability to plan and prioritise workload, work on own initiative as well as a member of a team, and work overtime as required.
What You'll Need
Qualifications
Time served Electrical apprenticeship or equivalent.City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 or above in electrical discipline.Previous experience within an FMCG manufacturing, automated warehousing environment or industrial environment (desirable).Desirable: Multiskilled, experience in using PLCs and diagnostics, experience in training/coaching.This is a permanent position and will require a Full Airside Pass for Heathrow Airport, the below will need to be completed to be allowed access to work at Heathrow.
5 Year work history or referenceDBS Clearance

Shift Timings : Mon- Friday 8:00AM - 5:00 PM
Job Details:
Inspect parts and assemblies in accordance with applicable data package requirements, using a range of measuring equipment including micrometres, verniers, co-ordinate measuring machines and faro arms.Inspect component parts to verify applicable machine tool set up processes,Inspect component parts and assemblies in accordance with batch sampling requirements,Complete formal First Article inspection activities,Complete component and assembly testing in accordance with Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), using a range of test equipment including power supplies, digital multi-meters, torque transducers and oscilloscopes,Create Test Procedures for new jobs,Test and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems,Review, analyse and document test results, including processing / completing non-conformance documentation (when applicable),Create a CMM matrix for all programme setup information, and program the CMM off-line (using CAD models) and on-line as required,Design new test solutions and develop future test strategies for equipment and products,Complete / authorize formal release certification (when required),Support continuous improvement activities,Support team members with other tasks as and when necessary,Adhere to Company policies and procedures,Ensure that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained at all times,Help create and maintain a safe working environment and observe the published Health and Safety procedures, andCarry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required.SKILLS:
Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical EngineeringKnowledge of test fixtures, equipment sensors and other fundamental laboratory test equipmentProficiency in all standard inspection equipment and tools, including CMMAbility to create programs from CAD models and make adjustments to programsAbility to create programs from CAD models and make adjustments to programsAbility to interpret and analyse engineering drawings, wiring programs, PCB schematics and technical specificationsExperience working in an aerospace precision engineering environmentAbility to work independently while collaborating in a team environment
