Position: Project Buyer
Location: London (E4 9JG)
Hours: Full Time, Permanent

Proactive are currently recruiting for a Project Buyer to join a dynamic and growing business based in London.

As a Project Buyer, you'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders, negotiating with suppliers, managing procurement activities, and supporting the successful delivery of customer projects.

Responsibilities:

* Manage the sourcing and procurement of materials, products, and services required to support business operations and customer projects

* Identify and engage with new and existing suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, quality products, and reliable delivery schedules

* Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchasing solutions

* Support project delivery by ensuring all procurement activities are completed within agreed timescales and budgets

* Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and order progress to ensure operational requirements are met

* Maintain accurate purchasing records, cost information, and supplier data

* Work closely with internal departments to understand requirements and provide procurement support throughout project lifecycles

* Assist with forecasting, planning, and inventory-related activities to minimise delays and maintain continuity of supply

* Resolve supply chain issues and communicate updates effectively to relevant stakeholders

* Contribute to process improvements and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs

* Coordinate logistics and delivery requirements where necessary to support successful project completion

Skills:

* Previous experience within a purchasing, procurement, buying, or supply chain role

* Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills

* Commercially aware with the ability to analyse costs and identify savings opportunities

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels

* Highly organised with strong attention to detail

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively

* Proactive and solution-focused approach to work

* Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines

* Good IT skills, including experience using ERP, purchasing, or business systems

Salary: £54,000

Are you a hands-on, technically skilled engineer with experience in automated industrial environments? We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join a dynamic team, ensuring the smooth operation of a state-of-the-art automated facility.

About the Role

In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining high-tech automated systems, including conveyors, sorters, and PLC-controlled equipment. You will carry out preventative and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Perform planned maintenance with a focus on proactive issue detection.Swiftly address breakdowns and conduct effective corrective maintenance.Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in various devices.Log work and parts in Maximo system.Showcase strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.Maintain professionalism in all customer interactions.Consistently meet and enhance contract SLAs.Provide support to other technicians and shifts as needed.Adhere to company health and safety regulations for a secure work environment.

Requirements

Completed time-served apprenticeship or equivalent training.Hold City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 or higher in mechanical or electrical maintenance.Prior experience in FMCG manufacturing or automated warehousing (preferred).Ability to obtain and maintain a full airside pass.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Proficient with computer systems, including CMMS.Skilled in reading and interpreting drawings.Effective workload planning and prioritization abilities, can work independently and in teams, and open to overtime.Maintains a professional appearance and respectful demeanor.Desirable skills: 18th edition, ONC/HNC, multiskilled, PLC and diagnostics experience, training/coaching experience.
