We are seeking an experienced and driven Maintenance Manager to support the Engineering Manager in leading the site's engineering function and developing a high-performing team.
This role is key to transforming the site from a reactive "repair culture" to a proactive continuous improvement environment, improving equipment reliability, operational performance, and overall efficiency.
You will lead from the front, embedding best practices, strengthening technical capability, and ensuring full compliance across all engineering activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Operations
Lead planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to maximise plant efficiency and reduce downtimeEnsure rapid and effective resolution of breakdowns impacting productionDrive improvements in equipment performance using continuous improvement techniquesSupport installation and commissioning of new equipmentMaintain site infrastructure, utilities, and plant rooms to required standardsCompliance & Safety
Ensure all engineering activities comply with health & safety, legal, and environmental standardsPromote a strong site safety culture, including safe systems of work and machine guardingMaintain audit readiness with high standards of hygiene, compliance, and documentationManage contractors and ensure adherence to company policiesMaintain accurate SOPs, risk assessments, and statutory inspection recordsContinuous Improvement

Position Overview
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of facility equipment and infrastructure to ensure employee safety, operational efficiency, and minimal downtime. This role leads multiple maintenance-related functions and drives continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to access all areas of the facility
Knowledge of:
Hot work procedures
Confined space safety
Fall protection
Ability to independently make decisions and solve complex problems
Ongoing emergency response training
Ability and medical clearance to use a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA)
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of 120V and 480V 3-phase electrical systems
Ammonia refrigeration experience or certification (e.g., RETA)
Experience with maintenance systems (CMMS) and standard office software
3+ years of material handling equipment (MHE) maintenance experience
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise teams across:
Material handling equipment maintenance
Refrigeration systems
Sanitation
Building and grounds maintenance
Develop and oversee:
Preventative maintenance programs
Repair and service initiatives
Safety and quality tracking metrics
Manage departmental budgets and resource planning based on operational needs
Partner with safety and compliance teams to:
Support Process Safety Management (PSM) programs
Develop emergency shutdown and evacuation procedures
Maintain strong relationships with external vendors and contractors
Drive continuous improvement using lean principles to increase efficiency and reduce waste
Travel Requirements
Travel approximately 4-5 times per year for meetings, training, and planning events
Must be able to travel independently via various modes of transportation
Safety Expectations
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture
Ensure compliance with all workplace safety policies and procedures
Take ownership of personal and team safety performance
