$75,000 to $100,000
Atlanta, United States

The employer specialises in the warehouse automation, robotics and advanced logistics technology industry, and is a global technology company delivering innovative automated warehouse solutions to some of the world's leading brands. They have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Performance Engineer to join their team. This position is well-suited to a technical, analytical and hands-on person who is looking to use their engineering and data-analysis skills to improve the reliability, availability and performance of sophisticated automated systems in a customer-facing environment.

Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to operational and field maintenance teams, including troubleshooting complex automation and controls issues.
Visit customer sites to understand operational requirements and support maintenance, retrofit, commissioning and system improvement activities.
Diagnose faults, analyse system and application logs, perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
Own and analyse maintenance and system performance KPIs, identifying trends, recurring issues and performance gaps.
Develop performance reporting, dashboards and data-driven insights to establish baselines and measure improvements.
Develop and track performance improvement plans where systems, processes or maintenance activities are not achieving agreed targets.
Use SQL, operational data and system logs to investigate performance issues and identify opportunities for improved reliability and availability.
Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to investigate system performance and contribute to product and system improvements.
Feed customer and field insights back into the wider organisation and help standardise best practices across sites.
Support preventative maintenance, continuous improvement and the development of new performance monitoring and analytics capabilities.
Manage technical incidents and customer expectations, taking ownership of issues through to resolution and escalating where required.

Requirements:
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills, ideally gained within automation, controls, maintenance, field service or industrial technology.
Experience working with automation and controls systems.
Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills, with experience using KPIs, performance metrics and operational data.
Proven experience developing or implementing performance improvement plans.
Proficiency with SQL and the ability to investigate system performance using data.
Good Linux command-line proficiency and experience analysing system/application logs.
Understanding of WMS, WCS and WES systems and their interaction with automated equipment.
Understanding of system architecture, process flows and operational workflows, plus basic network troubleshooting knowledge.
Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.
Good mechanical aptitude and confidence undertaking hands-on technical work.
Experience with analytics, monitoring or performance-management tools would be advantageous.
A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on measurable improvements in reliability, availability and performance.
Ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers and cross-functional technical teams.
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.

Reasons why you should apply:
Join a global leader in warehouse automation and robotics, working on sophisticated systems used every day by major international customers.
Combine engineering, automation, troubleshooting and data analytics in a varied role rather than focusing on a single technical discipline.
