Position: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk
Proactive are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Mildenhall.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying process improvements, supporting maintenance and reliability initiatives, and assisting with the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities:* Analyse existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality
* Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve workflow, and optimise operational performance
* Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programmes to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime
* Investigate production and equipment issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
* Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, routings, and production records
* Assist with the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes, ensuring smooth transition into production
* Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects to enhance operational capability
* Work closely with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve technical challenges and improve performance
* Monitor manufacturing data and performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
Skills:
* Degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience within Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and production equipment
* Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles and equipment reliability practices
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments

We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a leading, world-class manufacturing business in Leeds. This Maintenance Engineer role is a hands-on position within a highly automated, state-of-the-art production environment.

The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of production through both reactive and planned maintenance across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
Reactive and planned maintenance across production machinery and process plant
Electrical and/or mechanical fault finding and repairs
Supporting continuous improvement and project work
Maintaining automated machinery across the site
Working with pumps, motors, gearboxes, and related equipment
Minimising downtime and maximising machine performance

Requirements
Engineering qualification (City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) or ideally higher i.e. HNC
Background in manufacturing or process environment
Mechanical or electrical bias (multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer candidates welcome)
Experience with automated production machinery
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Maintenance Engineer role is commutable from Leeds, Rothwell, Pontefract, Wakefield, Ossett, Dewsbury, Castleford, Heckmondwike, Barnsley, Normanton, Middleton Park, Great Preston, Swillington, Newsam Green, Morley, Lofthouse, Robin Hood, Methley, Woodlesford, Garforth and other parts of West Yorkshire

This is actually a very long term contract role, paid and taxed like your normal job, so like a permanent role but paying excellent money. This will go on for 1 year plus+ - there are contractors onsite for 4 years.
We're working with a world-class manufacturer with an impeccable reputation for quality, high standards, and investment in people. They are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join their team at a brand-new, fully automated factory near Enfield.
This is a long-term contract role for an experienced Maintenance Engineer, with the opportunity to work on newly installed, cutting-edge machinery and be part of an expanding site.
Maintenance Engineer ResponsibilitiesReactive and planned maintenance of production machinery
Electrical or mechanical fault finding and repair (depending on skill set)
Minimise downtime and support on breakdowns
Assist with continuous improvement projects
Requirements for the Maintenance EngineerEngineering qualification - City & Guilds Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
Proven experience in a manufacturing / process/ production environment
Good knowledge of maintaining production or process machinery
Strong background in either mechanical or electrical maintenance
Hands-on approach and ability to work as part of a team
