The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and support of electrical systems used in automated warehouse and logistics environments.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing electrical layouts and system architectures for automated material handling systems
* Developing motor control circuits, power distribution systems, and control panel designs
* Selecting and specifying electrical components including PLC hardware, sensors, motors, and safety devices
* Producing technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, and cable schedules
* Supporting troubleshooting of electrical and control system issues during installation and operation
* Ensuring compliance with Australian electrical standards and safety regulations
* Working closely with project, controls, and software engineering teams
* Supporting continuous improvement and system optimisation initiatives
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Electrical Engineering qualification (mandatory)
* 3-5 years' experience in electrical engineering or industrial automation environments
* Strong exposure to PLC-based systems and automation technologies
* Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical
* Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical schematics and technical drawings
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in industrial environments
* Understanding of Australian electrical standards and safety requirements
* Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
Highly regarded experience includes:
* Automated warehouse or logistics systems
* Conveyor systems, robotics, or materials handling equipment
* Commissioning or installation of automated production systems
* Functional safety systems and risk assessments
