Our client seeking an experienced Program Manager to join a leading Airport Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) consultancy. This career-track opportunity is designed for an individual ready to commit to a long-term professional future within a growing team, acting as the critical link between project execution and owner expectations.
The Program Manager oversees large-scale integration programs encompassing Baggage Handling Systems and Airport Ground Support Equipment. Acting as a leading owner's authorized representative, this role ensures all technical, operational, and financial objectives are met from design through final commissioning. The successful candidate will coordinate extensively between airport authorities, general contractors, system installers, and internal stakeholders to guarantee seamless integration and operational readiness within active terminal environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Acts as the primary owner's authorized representative for the complete lifecycle of complex BHS integration programs
* Directs multiple project managers and technical teams within the division to ensure cohesive and standardized program delivery
* Facilitates direct communication between airport stakeholders, general contractors, and local authorities to maintain alignment on schedule and scope
* Evaluates contractor submittals, testing procedures, and progress against baseline schedules to mitigate risks and resolve technical conflicts early
* Conducts regular site inspections to verify that all mechanical and electrical installations comply with approved design documents and safety standards
* Leads operational readiness and transfer activities to bridge the gap between construction phases and active airport operations
* Manages overarching program budgets and reviews contractor payment applications to ensure financial compliance and accurate cost reporting
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Demonstrates extensive leadership and oversight experience specific to aviation infrastructure and material handling programs
* Possesses deep technical knowledge of sortation matrices, automated logistics, and passenger boarding bridge operations
* Exhibits strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills to effectively manage relationships with large-scale contractors
* Communicates complex engineering and integration details clearly to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership
* Maintains a comprehensive understanding of FAA regulations, TSA security standards, and OSHA safety guidelines relevant to airport environments
* Accommodates frequent travel to various airport project sites as program and client demands dictate
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a closely related technical field
* Minimum of ten years of progressive experience managing aviation infrastructure, automated logistics, or material handling programs
* Proven track record acting specifically as an owner's representative or in a dedicated consultant capacity on major airport capital programs
* Project Management Professional certification is highly preferred and recommended for this level of oversight

- Maintain program governance routines and support steering committee preparation.

- Track risks, issues, and actions (RAID) and support mitigation planning.
