Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Scheduler (Primavera P6) to support large-scale municipal utility and infrastructure capital projects. This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules across the entire project lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout. The successful candidate will provide owner-side schedule oversight, review contractor and consultant schedules, perform delay analyses, and support integrated project controls initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain CPM schedules for municipal utility and infrastructure capital projects.Build, update, and manage cost-loaded and resource-loaded schedules in Primavera P6.Develop schedule baselines and manage baseline change control processes.Prepare monthly schedule updates, critical path narratives, and variance analyses.Generate executive dashboards, performance reports, and recovery recommendations.Review contractor and consultant schedules for compliance, quality, and technical accuracy.Conduct schedule quality reviews and DCMA-style schedule health assessments.Perform Time Impact Analyses and support delay evaluations.Support schedule-related activities associated with change orders and claims avoidance.Identify schedule risks and recommend corrective actions.Support Earned Value Management implementation and integrated project controls reporting.Facilitate schedule review meetings with project stakeholders and leadership teams.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor's degree preferred.Minimum of 8 years of CPM scheduling experience supporting public infrastructure or capital projects.Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6.Experience developing and maintaining schedules for planning, design, and construction phases.Experience performing owner-side schedule reviews and construction schedule oversight.Knowledge of cost loading, resource loading, baseline management, and performance measurement concepts.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to successfully complete required background checks.

Preferred Experience

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in CAPEX projects, complex warehouse automation and decommissioning to manage the delivery of large-scale automated warehouse solutions across the UK and Norway.

The successful candidate will initially be required to live and work in Norway for a few months to support a key project. During this period, there will be opportunities to return to the UK occasionally, depending on project requirements and agreed arrangements.

Following successful completion of the initial assignment, the candidate will be signed off to support further projects based in the UK, with ongoing travel required depending on business needs.

The role is associated with the Birmingham office, where attendance is flexible. Most of the time will be spent managing projects remotely or working directly at customer sites.

Due to the extensive international travel involved, candidates should ideally hold a UK or EU passport to facilitate travel across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex automated warehouse and material-handling projects.

Manage CAPEX budgets, project costs, forecasts and financial reporting.

Oversee project planning, schedules, resources and delivery milestones.

Coordinate engineering, installation, commissioning, decommissioning and customer teams.

Manage complex warehouse automation projects, including the removal or decommissioning of existing systems where required.

Act as the primary point of contact for customers and key stakeholders.

Identify and manage project risks, issues, changes and dependencies.

Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Support on-site project delivery in Norway initially, followed by further assignments across the UK and Europe.

Essential Requirements

Proven experience as a Project Manager within engineering, industrial automation or warehouse automation.

Strong CAPEX project management experience, including budget control, cost forecasting and financial accountability.

Mandatory experience delivering complex automated warehouse projects, ideally involving large-scale automation and material-handling systems.

Mandatory experience with decommissioning, including the removal or dismantling of existing industrial or automated systems.

Strong understanding of installation, commissioning and project handover.

Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and communication skills.

Willingness to live and work in Norway for several months initially, with occasional UK visits permitted according to project arrangements.

Flexibility to travel extensively across the UK and Europe.

Ideally, a valid UK or EU passport to support international mobility.

Desirable

Experience with automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS).

Experience with robotics, conveyors and integrated warehouse control systems.

Formal project management qualifications, such as PRINCE2 or PMP.

Experience managing international projects and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

*Demonstrated ability to manage contracts, change control, claims, and commercial risks.
*Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills; comfortable presenting to executive-level audiences.
*Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, primarily during weekdays.

Preferred
*Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Management, or a related technical field; advanced degree a plus.
*Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, P.E., or LEED accreditation.

JOB SUMMARY:

The core purpose of the Sr. Project Manager role is to provide leadership and consistency to
large scale complex projects that typically include Controls programming and
Electrical/Mechanical Installation work while coordinating with customer and/or end users
(TSA, Airports, etc.).

Leads project team members and removes obstacles to drive deliverables such that each
team member will have the opportunity to be successful on the project(s). This role must
also manage the customer expectations to guarantee the delivery of a project that exceeds
customer expectations. In addition, mentoring and oversight of less experienced Project
Managers and PMO team members are key in this role.

Success for this position is to deliver successful projects to our customers. A successful

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Drives own empowerment with adequate authorization and responsibilities to manage the Programs project teams according to organizational standards.
* Serves as first point of customer escalation of issues.

* Aligns the project team and casts a vision that defines project success and achieves the 5 critical criteria for all projects (Safety, Timeliness, Execution, Quality, Profitability).
* Understands that the customer is an important team member on the project team and effectively coordinate and communicate.
* Increase and manage client relationships to ensure successful projects and repeatable business.
* Coordinate and communicate with the Engineering and Field Operations
* Manage sub-contractor and vendor relationships to ensure success.
* Lead project team to maintain and manage the project schedule.
* Present a monthly update to management that reviews budget, schedule, safety, CO's and risk.
