About the Role:
Reporting to the Test & Commissioning Manager, with day-to-day technical guidance from the Senior Test & Commissioning Engineer, the Test & Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the electro-mechanical testing, calibration and commissioning of Client geotechnical testing equipment. The role has a strong focus on hands-on electro-mechanical diagnostic work - building, testing, fault-finding and calibrating systems that incorporate sensors, transducers, actuators, and electro-mechanical or hydraulic components alongside control electronics - ensuring Client equipment consistently meets operational standards and performance expectations before despatch to customers.
As a Test & Commissioning Engineer, you will develop your technical and geotechnical testing knowledge under the guidance of senior colleagues, taking on increasing ownership of testing and commissioning tasks as your experience grows.

Key Relationships / Stakeholders
· Senior Test & Commissioning Engineer - day-to-day technical guidance, escalation of complex electro-mechanical faults, and skills development.
· Test & Commissioning Manager - work allocation, performance review and escalation of significant issues.
· Geotechnical Support team - technical queries on geotechnical testing methods and product application.
· Quality Management team - compliance with quality procedures and non-conformance reporting.
· Manufacturing and Production teams - coordination of assembly schedules and component availability.
· Engineering team - technical queries on electro-mechanical design and design modification suggestions
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
Expert-level diagnostic ability across mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment.
Experience working with sensors, transducers and electro-mechanical systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong emphasis on Excel for advanced data analysis, scientific interpretation and report writing.
Experience mentoring or leading junior staff.
