An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Electrical Service Technician to join a highly automated distribution facility in Brisbane. Working as part of a skilled on-site maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of cutting-edge automated systems.

The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting automated electrical, control, and mechanical systems within a fast-paced distribution environment.
Your duties will include:
* Preventative and corrective maintenance on automated equipment
* Electrical fault finding and breakdown response
* Diagnosing issues across PLC-controlled systems and automation equipment
* Supporting equipment upgrades, modifications, and optimisation projects
* Working closely with operational teams to minimise downtime
* Analysing system performance and identifying improvement opportunities
* Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance
About You
To be successful, you will ideally have:
* Electrical Licence or Electrical Trade Qualification
* Experience within industrial automation, manufacturing, logistics, FMCG, or production environments
* Exposure to PLCs, control systems, and automated equipment
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work rotating day and night shifts
* A proactive attitude and commitment to workplace safety
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience with conveyors, automated warehouse systems, robotics, sortation equipment, or materials handling systems will be highly regarded.

The Role
As a Resident Electrical Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting a highly automated warehouse operation. You will work closely with site leadership and international technical teams to ensure maximum system uptime and operational performance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Electrical fault finding and breakdown support on automated systems
* Preventative and corrective maintenance activities
* PLC and VSD fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
* Supporting shutdowns and continuous improvement initiatives
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records through CMMS systems
* Liaising with technical support and engineering teams to resolve complex issues
* Assisting with training and mentoring of new technicians
* Promoting a strong safety culture and compliance with Australian standards
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Current Queensland Electrical Licence
* Experience within industrial automation, manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, or similar environments
* Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and automated equipment
* Experience with PLCs, VSDs, sensors, conveyors, and automated machinery
* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
* Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems
* Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
* Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
Highly regarded:
* Experience within automated warehouses or distribution centres
* Pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge
* Post-trade qualifications
* Exposure to Siemens, Beckhoff, or similar control systems
