About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Project Manager to join a leading warehouse automation integrator, delivering software modernization and controls upgrade projects across complex warehouse automation environments.
This role will focus on managing software upgrade projects involving Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), PLC interfaces, and controls integration within live operational facilities. Youll lead projects from planning through commissioning, coordinating engineering, software, controls, installation, and customer teams to ensure successful delivery.
The ideal candidate will understand how software, controls, and automation systems interact within warehouse automation environments and have experience delivering brownfield automation upgrades with minimal operational disruption. Key Responsibilities
* Lead software upgrade and modernization projects across warehouse automation environments
* Manage WMS, WCS, PLC, server, and controls integration activities
* Coordinate software, controls, engineering, installation, and commissioning teams
* Develop project schedules, budgets, forecasts, risk registers, and resource plans
* Manage multiple concurrent automation projects from planning through customer acceptance
* Support brownfield controls upgrades within live operational facilities
* Coordinate cutover planning, system integration, testing, startup, and commissioning
* Monitor project financials, forecasting, and overall project performance
* Build strong relationships with customers, engineering teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
* Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to customer expectations
What Were Looking For
* Proven experience managing software projects within warehouse automation or material handling
* Experience delivering WMS, WCS, PLC, controls, or automation software upgrades
* Strong understanding of controls integration and industrial automation environments
* Experience managing brownfield automation or controls upgrade projects
* Knowledge of warehouse automation systems including AS/RS, AutoStore, conveyors, or material handling equipment
* Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
* Strong forecasting, commercial, and stakeholder management experience
* Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Excel
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
