Solution Design Engineer - Sortation & ASRS Systems - offering the opportunity to work on advanced automation solutions, international customer projects, and cutting-edge material handling technologies.

* €75,000 - €80,000 gross per year.

The company specialises in the automation, intralogistics, and advanced material handling industry, and is a global technology-driven organisation delivering innovative warehouse automation solutions and working with leading international customers. They have an exciting opportunity for a Solution Design Engineer to join their team. This position is well-suited to an analytical and technically driven person who is looking to design high-performance logistical solutions and play a key role in shaping complex automation projects from concept through implementation. This position is based in the Solution Design department and answers to the Solution Design Manager. You will develop innovative concepts for Sortation and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), translate customer requirements and operational data into detailed system designs, and collaborate with international sales and engineering teams to deliver scalable and cost-effective automation solutions.

Responsibilities:

* Develop conceptual and detailed designs for advanced material handling systems, including sortation solutions, 3D ASRS, and fulfilment systems based on customer requirements, throughput targets, and storage needs.

* Create and optimise system layouts using AutoCAD and Autodesk Navisworks, including model integration, clash detection, and design reviews.

* Analyse operational data, calculate throughput and capacity requirements, and create scalable solutions supported by technical documentation, specifications, and equipment lists.

* Lead technical discussions with internal teams, CAD engineers, project teams, and international customers.

* Support commercial proposals and customer presentations by explaining technical solutions and design decisions.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
* 4-5+ years of experience designing, engineering, or implementing material handling systems, with a focus on Sortation and/or ASRS.

* Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and experience using Autodesk Navisworks for model review and clash detection.

* Strong analytical skills with experience analysing operational data using Excel or similar tools.

* Excellent professional English communication skills (written and verbal).

* Experience with simulation software, WMS/WCS integration, or Creo/SolidWorks knowledge is advantageous.

* Fluency or professional working proficiency in German and/or French is highly desirable.
