The company are looking to expand their workforce and employ several forklift drivers to join their fast-paced production team.
About the Forklift Driver role
Movement of products within the yard and warehouse
Unloading of stock from delivery vehicles
Loading of finished products onto trailers for delivery to customers
Manual handling of stock
Recording stock movements on company stock control systems
Involvement in assembly and production across all areas of the assembly line
To be considered for the Forklift Driver role you will:
Have an in-date or recently expired forklift licence for either Counterbalance, Reach or Combi
Be physically fit due to the physical nature of this role
Be able to communicate effectively, with a good written and verbal understanding of the English language
Be willing to learn all other aspect of production and prepared to be hands on, as the role does not require the operating of the forklift for the full duration of each shift
Have previous experience with hand tools (Beneficial but not essential)
Be computer literate

Duties
Responsible for the operation of a complex plant line ensuring that the line is setup correctly, operated within accordance with SOP's, and ran to the expected production throughput and quality standard.
Escalating downtime immediately to the Shift Operations Manager and working closely with the Shift Engineer (Reactive) and any Senior or Technical operators to resolve the root-cause and get the line operational as safely and quickly as possible.
Measure plant throughput and optimise continually during the lines operation to maximise throughput against agreed targets.
Completing production paperwork / shift reports to maintain traceability and log issues and causes of downtime on the line.
Carry out quality and testing checks when required, to ensure product meets required customer specification.
Assisting as required with the production and processing of by-product, handling of waste / animal feed and waste packaging (baling) to ensure the site is tidy and organised
Supporting other departments as required (Quality Control, Warehouse, Engineering, etc…)
Supporting any other reasonable management request.
Required Experience:
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment, ideally working with modern machinery and equipment in a safe and high-quality manner.
Able to demonstrate operating in a values led business focused on people and service to customers.
Able to demonstrate clear understanding and interpretation of the daily production plan and achieve company/shift KPI's/expectations
Ability to undertake individual and team responsibility and accountability whilst delivering efficient and high quality service/product.
Be able to demonstrate flexibility, reliability and enthusiasm for the role.
Ability to run multiple production processes in accordance with SOP's.

Goods Inwards:
Ensure that stock is safely and accurately received; any damages to be raised through relevant stakeholders. Purchase orders are accurately controlled inwards and clearly identifiable with all discrepancies challenged or flagged. Ensure all red channel and customer support incident (CSI's) items are robustly managed & controlled with communication through the Quality department.
Dispatch:
Control daily dispatching activities and ensure dispatch accuracy through to collection. Ensure all paperwork is correctly provided prior to dispatch; this includes courier related systems. Inform Sales of all discrepancies as identified and work towards solution. Arrange and manage transport when required and observe special requirements and instructions. All Inter-Company shipping activities from container safe loading through to documentation and system closure. Ensure products conform as required.
Items storage and distribution:
Ensure goods are safely and accurately received, logged and processed through to storage and visibility on current IT systems. Ensure stock is correctly marked up and correctly located. Inform operations team as discrepancies and issues are observed. Commutate through procurement channels when stocks are low or below minimum level.
Cycle counting:
Run independent checks on stock items and coordinate throughout team. Carry out a full Investigation and report through Warehouse Manager as discrepancies found. Update inventory record with 100% of findings and ensure journal postings reflect.
