The Role

As Buyer / Purchaser, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of materials and components required for production, while supporting production planning activities to maintain an efficient manufacturing process.

Working closely with production, suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will help ensure materials are available when needed, negotiate with suppliers, and contribute towards the smooth running of the supply chain.

They have an exciting opportunity for a Project Procurement Manager to join their team. This position is well-suited to a commercially minded and strategic procurement professional who is looking to play a key role in complex automation projects while driving supplier performance and cost optimisation.

This position is based in the Procurement department and reports to the Director of Procurement North America. You will lead project procurement activities across the Americas region, develop strategic supplier relationships, and support project teams from the sales phase through project execution and completion.

Responsibilities:
* Manage procurement activities for third-party materials, products, solutions, and services used across major automation projects throughout the Americas.
* Support sales and project teams by developing supply plans, sourcing strategies, budgets, and procurement roadmaps.
* Lead supplier negotiations, contract reviews, commercial discussions, and purchasing activities to achieve the best value and project outcomes.
* Collaborate with Category Management, Global Procurement, Product Centres, and Solution Centres to align sourcing strategies and supplier performance.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers and support supplier performance reviews and audits.
* Identify and deliver procurement savings opportunities while maintaining quality, delivery, and project requirements.
* Support SAP process improvements, reporting initiatives, and procurement best practices.

Requirements:
* Proven experience in project procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or purchasing within automation, material handling, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
* Experience managing supplier negotiations, contracts, RFQs, and commercial agreements for large-scale projects.
* Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier relationship management, and project-based purchasing.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, project management, and global procurement functions.
* Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
* Strong commercial acumen with a focus on cost optimisation, supplier performance, and risk management.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience within warehouse automation, intralogistics, robotics, material handling, or industrial automation sectors is highly desirable.
