Service Technician Lead/Supervisor - Green Bay, WI
The company operates within the material handling and warehouse equipment maintenance sector and is recognised for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of forklift fleets and associated industrial equipment. They have an exciting opportunity for a Forklift Technician Lead / Supervisor to join their team. This position is well-suited to an experienced, proactive, and hands-on professional who is capable of leading a small team of technicians while continuing to apply strong technical expertise, contributing to the smooth and continuous operation of warehouse logistics.
This position is based within the Maintenance and Service department and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor/Service Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing and carrying out preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and complex repairs on electric and internal combustion forklifts, as well as other material handling equipment. You will coordinate and support all equipment servicing activities on site, allocate and prioritise workload within the team, and ensure all machinery is safe, compliant, and operational before use.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform planned maintenance on electric, propane, and diesel forklifts, ensuring optimal fleet reliability and performance.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical systems including motors, controllers, contactors, wiring harnesses, and battery charging systems.
- Oversee maintenance of industrial batteries, charging systems, and related electrical components to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems including pumps, cylinders, valves, and associated components.
- Repair and oversee mechanical systems such as brakes, steering mechanisms, and mast assemblies.
- Utilise OEM diagnostic software, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals to accurately identify and resolve technical issues.
- Complete and review accurate work orders, ensuring proper documentation of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage.
- Monitor and maintain parts inventory records to support efficient workshop operations.
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations and manufacturer safety standards across all maintenance activities.
- Maintain clean, organised service areas in line with 5S workplace standards and best practices.
- Support and guide junior technicians, ensuring consistent quality of work and adherence to safety procedures.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in mechanical or electrical fields preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in forklift or material handling equipment repair, with demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience in electrical troubleshooting, battery systems, and industrial equipment maintenance.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and hydraulic diagrams.
- Experience using OEM diagnostic tools and software for equipment fault finding and repair.
- Proven ability to support, train, and guide other technicians in a team environment.
- Must supply own hand tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in warehouse/industrial environments.
