Lowes - Resident Automation Technician - Findlay OH
The Resident Automation Technician II supports our customer on all automation-related topics. This position requires a broad-based electrical and mechanical skillset and a proactive approach to improve the site's performance through trouble-shooting and hands-on repair. Based at our customer sites, the Resident Automation Technician II must represent the image and ensure that a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained.
This role is in Findlay, OH.
Standardized Tasks & Responsibilities
- Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.
- Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
- Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment on-site, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
- Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
- Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory.
- Collaborate with the broader client's Lifetime Services team to track, document, and communicate issues and lessons learned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements Profile
- High school diploma required. Associate degree or Technical Certificate in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related field strongly preferred.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, manufacturing, or related environments.
- Familiarity with HMI (human machine interface) and/or SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition interface) experience.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings for use in diagnostics.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc).
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Previous experience in electromechanical troubleshooting and repair of material-handling conveyors, AS/RS, and shuttle systems, preferred.
- Profibus and Profinet experience preferred.

- Requires prolonged period of standing and walking
- Must be able to climb a 70 foot fixed ladder (ladder has rest points every10ft)
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds maximum unassisted lift = 50 lbs average lift less than 20 lbs
- While looking forward, must be able to see objects or movements that are off to the side
- Must be able to visually inspect machines
- Must be able to see differences between colors, shades and brightness
- Exposed to moving and/or motorized equipment, machinery, parts and electricity that require safety protocols
- Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand
- Must be able to understand the speech of others
- Must be able to use critical PPE correctly
- Exposed to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather based on geographic region
