Maintenance Technician - Industrial Electrician
Maintenance Technician (Electrical) - Automation Systems | Sydney
We're currently looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to join a high-performing team supporting advanced automated material handling systems at a major distribution facility based in Sydney.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and licensed Electrician with a background in automation, electrical maintenance, and fault finding, particularly within industrial or logistics environments. You'll play a hands-on role in maintaining system uptime, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring safety and operational excellence in a state-of-the-art facility.
What You'll Be Doing
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on automated systems, including PLCs, VSDs, and control panels
Provide breakdown support and troubleshoot issues in real-time during operational and non-operational hours
Use software tools such as Siemens, ABB, Beckhoff, and SEW to diagnose faults and restore operations
Conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable improvements
Maintain detailed and accurate service records
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, electrical standards, and site procedures
Collaborate with operators and other technicians to boost equipment efficiency
Support continuous improvement initiatives and technical training where required
What You'll Bring
Essential:
Current NSW electrical trade licence
Solid experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in automation or warehousing environments
Strong understanding of PLC systems, electrical schematics, and industrial equipment
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
Excellent fault-finding, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills
A proactive, safety-first approach with the ability to work both independently and in a team
Full driver's licence
Desirable:
Diploma in Engineering or training in PLC/instrumentation
Experience in automated logistics, FMCG, or warehousing operations
Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
EWP, Confined Space, or Working at Heights tickets
